Time for Obama to pull the trigger on the 14th Amendment

At this point President Obama should invoke the14th Amendment and raise the debt ceiling by himself. He should do it 9 am Monday morning just before the markets open and in a brief press conference recount how this came to pass. How both sides can't agree, how the republicans choose to use the debt ceiling as a point of contention even though they voted to raise it 74 times in the past including 5 times in the previous administration. He may as well do it and let the GOP take it to court, shit its not like they don't have other cases there that's against the administration anyway.

And yet again we see the Obama Administration and democrats compromising more than their counterparts across the aisle. At this point all that's being discussed is how much the poor and middle class are going to have to sacrifice in program and entitlement cuts. No tax revenues, no closing tax loopholes and no tax hikes on the rich. So what sacrifices are the rich and super rich making? On top of that McConnell's bullshit plan is being incorporated into Reid's plan so basically the Republicans have again controlled the tone and tenor of the debate.

Even if they strike a "deal" in the end it wouldn't be worth all the bullshit that was riled up over the past 3 weeks. If a deal is struck sometime today it will be something that will have more republican components than democrat and won't be anywhere near fair and balanced. When this is done no one should pat themselves on the back or act like they accomplished something. There's still no jobs plan from either party and all of this fighting did nothing but upset the markets for the last week.

Obama should bypass all this bullshit and pull the trigger on the 14th Amendment and make them hash it out over the rest of the summer.

Has Obama indicated that it's even a possibility? I haven't gotten that impression. I get the feeling this new "compromise" is going to sail through.

Totally agree. No downside for BHO, they elected him to govern so he'd be governing. Raising the debt ceiling is business as usual until the black guy comes in. He needs to use the same balls it took to shoot bin Laden. Fuck the GOP they had their chance.

 

This tentative deal we saw tonight on TV is nothing more than a continuation of an on-going ponzi scheme. It's called quantitative easing (QE). It's a debt-derivative phase where the banks are given bailout money while the stimulus money is being used to jump-start volatility in the stock market. It encourages more investing for a chance at profits that would not come otherwise in a depression like this one. That's the good news. The bad news ( and truth) is that through stimulus, the American taxpayer is raped of his/her monies as it is funneled to off-shore foreign banks. It's also funneled into the Big Six Banks when their bailout monies expire and they need more money to stay afloat. As this destructive phase continues to destroy countries like America, the dollar is undervalued and marginalized greatly to the point of extinction.

To the people who think the raising of the debt ceiling was a good thing, I got news for you. It's all a part of a diabolical scheme by the off-shore bank cartels to bring America into servitude. Your government is already bought off by these power elite, rich families. And to them, you are nothing but collateral. It's time we all awaken to the truth and fight these people.
