racism in this country and in many other parts of the world is based on the "one drop" rule. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One-drop_rule

racism didn't take into account of anything else(asian,white,etc.). brasil, from what i understand it, flows on similar lines.

1) I label him as Asian because that's what he is, how else should I label him?
2) He has no black side to be attacked, his father is not even 50% black.
3) Most Americans who address him as black have no idea about his racial background and probably have never seen his parents they assume just because he's a little bit darker and some people associate him with black people he must be black.
4) He looks black?, are you sure about that?, so now straight hair and Asian eyes are black features?
