At least to the public anyways. I can imagine any other man in his position doing the same thing. That is a private affair between him and his wife. I But hopefully, his interview with the media goes well for him and his family
I wish he'd call them out on there blatant racism and the absurdity of them paying so much attention to his infidelity. Seriously why does anyone give a shit?
Racism? what are you on about this is how they act in many such cases, the reason he's a highlight for there interest is because he is such a high profile figure, politicians in my country resign over stuff like this.
I have to agree on this - calling this racism is silly, sorry Andrae... This is simply a case of one of the MOST recognizable athletes in the world.. Of course it will have huge attention. It sells. It is as simple as that.. I also think some of the attention is because he was viewed as a wholesome, family man and the surprise of his actions was just a shock. If he was know officially to be a womanizer, I dont think the world would have reacted with the shock they now did. Of course the sponsors chose him as their face because his wholesome immage, that now went south. On the other hand, I agree with the OP - He does not owe the world an appology at all.
I call bs on both of you. One this is what athletes fricking do and I have yet to see any other athlete ostracized this way. I think him doing a predominately white sport had a lot to do with. Athletes cheat left and right I don't see why he has to apologize. It's lame.
If you go looking for something, you're going to find it wherever you go. However, it doesn't always mean it's there. As for Tiger, he isn't being ostracized. What he did (keeping silent and allowing over a dozen women to come forward on their own) was idiotic. AS SOON as the news spread of the first woman, he should have gone public and said, yeah, I cheated on my wife with several women, blah, blah, blah, let's keep this a private matter. His silence allowed this whole stupid ordeal to snowball into something bigger than it needed to be. He made a tactical move (by remaining silent for 3 months) that's now blowing up in his face. You always acknowledge things right away, if you're a public figure. Acknowledge your wrongdoing and move on and the world moves on with you. All I've heard from the male coworkers is that they can't wait for him to come back to golf. But, I'm with the OP, the only person he needs to apologize to is his wife.
lippy thinks that the reason tiger is taking such a beating is because he promoted himself as being the perfect husband and father...he was squeeky clean...no one could touch him...almost not human...well, guess what he is human...he is a man...race doesn't apply...having a dick does
My lovely friend - I call BS on you. It has way more to do about his persona and immage... and how all of this developed. Athletes cheating left and righ.. whatever ... please, name me one that had over a dozen women he cheated with and had a squeaky clean immage.
I don't see why he needs to apologise to anyone but his own family, particularly his wife. I don't care that the women went public. That says far more about them, their attention whoring and their sluttiness than about him being a dog of a man (even though he clearly is). I mean seriously...why would you 'go public' with private shit like that? I'm disgusted that we intrude on their lives so much. It's nobody's business but their own. If the women want to throw themselves into the public eye...let them. He shouldn't have to apologise to the public for anything.
Okay here you go Andrae, John Terry (A White Guy) former England football Captain sacked because of his infidelity and this month replaced With Rio Ferdinand, enough said. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...d-Captain-showdown-manager-Fabio-Capello.html
Yep, exactly what Francie said. Recently it was discovered that the FORMER England football captain John Terry had had an affair with his team mates then girlfriend. The media destroyed him, again because he was a good role model and a wholesome family man who had won father of the year once before. And he's white. So you're chatting shit there mate, sorry.
Funny isn't it, give Andrae an actual comparision and not a mumur out of him. Your a tumid bag of wind mate.
Listen smart ass I just noticed you guys responded. I don't sit on here all day I actually have a life lol. As for the UK comparison that's out of context because I was talking in reference to American media and this was an American athlete. FG for MJ it was that bad but he cheated on his black wife. It's almost expected that a bm will leave a bw so that shock isn't there. I agree that there was a combination of his image and the fact that golf is a predominately white sport. Again I stress the fact that every fricking major athlete does what he does i personally think him being a black golfer married to a Nordic woman definitely added to the appeal. If his race wasn't an issue I don't think so many social commentators wouldn't keep bringing up the fact that all the women were white. Here's something to think about, former Governor of NY Elliot Spitzer got caught fucking call girls and didn't have to deal with this fucking circus. Mind you Spitzer was a strong advocate of policing and cracking down on prostitution but he wasn't made to go through this kind if humiliation. He was allowed to resign and go about his life. No fake ass lame apology. I know it seems like me "playing the race card" seems like race baiting but I'm making logical correlations based on observation. I'm not saying I'm completely right but there's a ton truth to what I say.
There are a multitude of reasons why the media has made such a big deal out of this: 1. He and his family led a very private life, despite being famous, some might say they were almost boring. 2. He had a 'squeaky clean' image prior to this. 3. Over a dozen women came forward en masse to give fairly detailed accounts of his sexual escapades. 4. He is one of only a few BM in the sport of golf, and is indisputably more talented than the majority of his competition. 5. All his affairs were with WW and he is a BM. 6. He is wealthy and famous. 7. The American public feels they are completely entitled to know every private detail of the lives of people who have careers that place them in the public eye. 8. The American public feels that when someone famous betrays their trust, or disappoints them with their actions, that they are due an apology (think of the formal apology Michael Phelps issued after his pot smoking incident). IMO, all of the above contributed to this being a PR nightmare for Tiger Woods. His choice to initially try to remain silent and ignore the media likely significantly contributed to their continued scrutiny of him, though really he didn't want to speak publicly on something most people wouldn't want to discuss and so I understand his stance. However, had he just immediately issued a statement through a publicist letting them know it was a private matter and he wouldn't be discussing it, and then stuck to that, it would have died down quicker. They're only interested when they think there's a story to report, give them nothing, or admit to whatever you've done and then refuse to discuss it further, and they'll go find something more juicy to report on. Personally I don't think he owes anyone other than his wife any explanation.
I disagree. As soon as the car accident happened and he didn't want to speak on it, all hell broke loose. It was downhill from there. Everyone was curious, rumors left-and-right-, police involved, women started popping up trying to cash in on their stories, etc.
Espy I gotta disagree because Michael Jordan had a squeeky clean image and cheated no huge scandal. Elliot Spitzer Mr. Family Valuea got caught with hookers and the back lash wasn't nearly as huge. Like I said I could be wrong but I don't see how.
