Hey all! Below is my online dating profile. Give me your thoughts and suggestions?

I should also note that I met the woman who took my virginity and the woman to first break my heart on here. So I know I'm doing something right (or wrong) to attract women.

I would narrow your preferred age range to 21-26; anything over 30 is probably too old for a young guy like yourself. I'd add a picture of you with a collared shirt. If you do outdoor activities (e.g. biking, running, hiking), add a pic of that if you're looking for a white woman.

I'd also kill the baseball cap and any reference to comic book characters, but that's the perspective of a guy in his late 30s.

Diet: Mostly anything

Don't express such a strong desire to meet up. If the chemistry is there, it'll happen. I recommend placing a profile on at least two other dating sites too.

I agree with possibly adjusting your age range. While I typically try not to put too much emphasis on age, the reality is that many women at 30 are simply in a different place in their lives then men in their early-mid twenties.

I also agree with the comic book character comment...but I'm 32 years old and not the "nerdy girl" type, so maybe I'm just out of touch lol.

The only part of your profile that would actually turn me away is:

"less sex-driven

less independent

less adventurous"

Those are three incredibly important features IMO, so I wouldn't go any further. But as I eluded to earlier, age probably plays a factor in my preferences.

With all that said, I think critiquing someone else's profile is difficult because what attracts one person, might not work on the next. You've had success thus far, so clearly you're attracting people with what you have. Bottom line, I think your profile reads very nicely, you come across as intelligent and fun, and your pictures look sweet and genuine.

I'm not sure what your current approach is, but to increase your success maybe you could message more people? Put yourself out there to everyone you find an interest in. The more you approach, the greater your responses will probably be, right?!

 

My self-summary
I'm a clever and ambitious artist that loves to laugh and make people laugh. The art and laughter part being the special features in the Blu-Ray (DVD's are dead) I call my life.

Good first line not sure the second line will translate well to women. Know your audience.

I'm looking for a woman who loves to laugh and get goofy. A woman who will have my back as much as I will have hers. A woman who is smart and CAN match wits with me. A woman who is genuinely interested in meeting outside this website.

First sentence is pretty good, you're upfront about what you want in a basic way. The second sentence comes across as a little needy to me, like you're willing to jump into a relationship with the next will participant. Remember you're a prize so a little aloofness won't hurt. Third sentence is missing the word can, women pay attention to grammar/spelling mistakes, it can be a deal breaker for some. The last sentence would be better placed at the "you should message me if" section. In the what you are looking for part I always suggest listing five things you need in order for a relationship to work. For me I express needing someone who has a work life balance, someone open to explore different places anywhere from Vermont to Bali, someone who doesn't mind cleaning together, etc.

I wouldn't change nothing about your profile, it's perfect and effectively communicates the type of person you are and the type of person you looking for. It's about you and what you like so leave the age range alone, quite a few women in their 30's and beyond enjoy themselves the company of a young buck as yourself. You ain't trying to Wife every chick you meet and chicks ain't trying to make an relationship with every guy they meet.

I used to have a fun profile like you on POF but I was attracting way to many females who I wasn't feeling. To be blunt, they were really dumb, childish, and didn't have shit to offer but headaches so I changed up my profile to this.

I agree with Lippy - even though this isn't the most current pic, I would use it as the profile pic. It would catch my eye faster than most.

 

I think its interesting we both live on long island. Im not looking for anyone as I do have a boyfriend but you mention eastern LI and I live right on the border of N/S you mention you work as an adjunct professor at a LI school I work in a technical school.

That's the problem. If you've had weight issues your entire life, you're going to need a better attitude than that to combat the problem. Usually when someone is that dismissive about something as serious as their health, often times they don't have much motivation/drive in other areas of their life. That is incredibly unattractive.

Idk what your profile looks like, but no advice on tightening it up will change the facts. Confidence is huge, and from reading a few of your posts it seems as though you lack that. Work on it and other things in your life may start falling into place (fitness, romance, etc).
