So, I am interested in reading your thoughts/feelings about thoughts versus feelings. What's the difference? Are they really the same? Do they come from the same place? Can you have one without the other? Is one superior to the other? Is it better to "Think before you act." or to "Follow your heart."? What do you think/feel? :)

Well I wanted to post before the atheists kill any romantic notion of thought or feelings by giving you the mechanical definitions of both but I do believe we are given the ability to think because it helps us sort through our feelings and figure out the truths in lives but I think feelings are equally if not more so valuable because it makes life enjoyable, its what makes us feel part of the world. Its what gives our world meaning. So I guess they are both equally important since they are both necessary to make life life.

I believe that thoughts come before feelings...feelings are made up from a series of thoughts. When you decide to do something because you had a feeling, I think it's culmination of thoughts (even if it's something you don't have personal experience with). This may sound cold to Knight...but I don't see thoughts to be mechanical, exacting, cold and whatever else along that nature...when someone says you're thoughtful, that's not cold. You actually took time out of your day to think about doing/saying/showing someone that you were thinking aboutthem or someone...I don't know if that makes sense, but I see it in my head lol

I think you misunderstood me. Being thoughtful is different from pondering or be doing something thoughtful which is where I think you were going. Having thoughts at least the way I interpret it is your brain using the body and the senses to understand external stimuli like recognizing things like hot and cold wet and dry but emotions attach meaning to them like preferring hot to cold because it makes you feel good.

These things aren't even fll blown thoughts, they are more reations, you don't even need to think in some of those cases...

I believe there to be a range of thoughts, from the reations I state above, all the way to deep thoughts...

Your thoughts allow you to explore the feelings that you have, and continue to make new feelings...

Which came first, the the thought or the feeling? The chicken or the egg? lol

we're born in the heart and as we move through life the mind become our place of residence. I always felt that feelings are there before thoughts. but when our feelings fail us we use "thinking" as another means of making sense of life.

ex; your fear of something is created before the thought of what you fear.
a child doesn't say " I fear ghost" before he experiences the 'feeling" first. His thoughts are then only an explanation of his fear. this is my opinion. feel free to disagree or improve upon it.
