Nothing's worse than child neglect and who better would demonstrate that than the case in this article here: 19-Month old Baby Covered in Feces and Cockroaches Meet Tiffany Jenkins, the mother of this child. She has three other kids as well, all of which are barely at the elementary school age... Turned out that she forgot about the baby, so when the policeman was patrolling and noticed something walking across the street, he saw that it was a baby, covered in dirt, poop, and roaches. That sort of sight would make anyone cry and feel like punching the neglectful parents. The baby was then taken to the station and there were live roaches crawling out the diaper and of course, he was really dirty. Where was the mom in all this? Oh...she forgot. But she came to the station and wanted to report a missing baby. Well, she found her baby, but in light of this whole thing, she was then arrested for endangerment of a child and the rest of the kids were taken in to live with the grandparents. Her husband was working during the day, so no charges were filed on that part. I cannot wrap my head around that how can you forget something as vulnerable as a baby? I can understand being overwhelmed with everything, but parental instincts should have kicked in automatically and you have to remind yourself that a baby is missing. Thoughts?
A normal person doesn't "forget" about their child. Something is clearly wrong with that woman. For a child to be that dirty (not to mention covered in roaches??), there's serious neglect going on in that household. So terribly sad, but I'm thankful these babies have family that they can go to instead of having to endure the holidays with strangers. Hopefully the parents get the support/guidance they need to properly care for the children they chose to bring into this world.
