Lee should had seen the movie and then complain instead of just shooting his mouth. He should make his own slavery flick.

Anger has always been the motivating factor that moves Spike Lee and his filmmaking. It works for him and it sometimes works against him. Lee is an independent and never let the major studios get in the way. If he does, like in the case with Miracle At St. Anna, he would work with the studios in terms of distribution and advertising. As much respect that I have for him and Quentin Tarantino, I am not surprised by his public tirade against anyone who makes a successful film that is not even his own. In addition to filmmaking, Lee also teaches filmmaking.

i wonder if spike is rigfht about how tarrintino love using the N-word. also do you think J. Foxx feel insuloted because he took part in the movie?

Lee seems not to get along of any filmmaker White or Black. He has a beef with Eastwood,Perry,Tarrentino,or a Black actor who does their films. You don't get juice in the filmmaking world by making flicks that lose money. Lee had made a film but, almost no one had seen it.

The way I see it, Spike's beefs with all of the above are well justified. Eastwood made two WW2 (Iwo Jima) movies with no Black actors despite the fact Black soldiers were a significant part of that battle, and Spike called him on it. As far as Tyler Perry, I agree with Spike's criticism of his work (coonery) 100%, and nobody can deny that Tarentino uses the n-word like it is going out of style in many of his films. These are all valid concerns in my book and deserve to be commented on, I don't believe Spikes comments are motivated by $ jealousy.

Critics do not like Lee's in-your-face style. I think, in terms of telling a true story, that a filmmaker should tell the whole story because there were other factors in the event. Other people had a role in the event, as well.

At least Spike should see those movies intead of just making comments. On Eastwood, bring some facts,Perry:He is a niche writer and actor and Tarentino:Make your own movie. Tyler Perry as I said in many thread has a audiance of Black women who would pay bucks to see his plays and movies and a loyal following. Spike Lee is a artist who can direct any film if he wants to. There is no Black male following of his movies to keep him directing. Anyway,to be a critic you must see the subject instead of dismissing it outright.
