While I do believe that Kemet (Egypt) was created by clearly African people, I also believe it probably quickly became a mixed race society due to its proximity to the middle east and Europe. But the black people in America do not share the same direct lineage with the Egyptians. The vast majority of American blacks come from West Africa which is completely separate from East Africa. I think we should be looking more at other places Ghana, Mali, and Songhai. African history doesn't start or end with Egypt.

There is so much black history that still has not been told that it's overwhelming. My question why is it not being taught even in the black schools. I can understand much of it not being taught in white schools, but black schools have fallen on this too. I'm getting a little tired of black history being taught that only deals with the Civil Rights struggle.

The Dogon and other West African cultures trace their lineage back to Egypt.

If ALL white folks can claim Greece and Rome on the basis of just being white...why can't all black people claim Egypt.??????????????????

    And

It took hundreds of CENTURIES for Egypt to become a mixed-race society.

You didn't just say, 'hundreds of centuries', ????:smt043:smt011
100,000(s) years for Egypt to become mixed race, being geographically located on the Mediterranean Basin??

    Wow.

I ain't mad at ya, but that was mighty funny.

And all White folks DON'T claim to be descendants of Greece or Rome.:smt108

Ever heard of 'White Ango-Saxon Protestants, (WASPs) before??

I do..whites from all backgrounds commonly point to greece as the height of European culture.:toimonster:

Black people worldwide have just as much right to do the same with ancient egypt.

Because it is American black history and not any thing else. Like I said before, just call it civil rights month and get it over with.

If you wanna really get deep into it and study African history, or German, Russian or Chinese history, you have to take those courses in the history department of a 4 year college.

NO high school is going to emphasize study in 'Black history'.
