White women are the most attractive, period. That is why I love them.

There is something to the "black voice" thing. I DARE you to find a white choir that en mass can carry the same quality of sound as a black choir, singing the exact same song. They CAN'T. I guarantee there is science to support it.

BTW y'all are tearing apart this person Al Jahiz from the top to the bottom, exactly the way you did with me a few days ago - discrediting all of his accomplishments and ideals just because of a conflict in personality. Shaking MY "damn" head. *by the way that is the most fucking stupid phrase I have ever seen made into an acronym*

But whatever - if everyone got along on this forum at all times, it would be a very dull place. We are all here for the same reason, as our rally against the influx of racist posts last night clearly shows. Let's please keep that in mind.

So you saw or found NOTHING AT ALL as negative & stereotypical in this person's behavior? Someone who freely says he respects anyone involved in the drug & gang culture responsible for the destruction of the black community? Something I personally witnessed the beginning of back when I was a teenager. This was nothing to do with his personality but more to do with his negatively destructive mindset & POV. You may personally find something "noble" & "real" about him & what he stands for, but the bottom line is he's ignorant. Plain & simple. And "no" he is not here for the same reasons that most of us are here for, since he clearly couldn't answer how he with his ignorant behavior was any different from racist trolls putting up their ignorant POV's that reflected a lot of his behavior & attitude. If you honestly can't see that then you are truly lost just like he is.

At this point you're just plain obvious!

Shut up, bitchass fool. All of that rambling & you didn't say shit. Until you actually have something real to say, it would be best for you to shut the fuck up.

His bitchass know he's a troll, so there's no answer he can give you. His behavior has already answered that question anyway.

I'm sure it's hard for him to "like" or respect women when he obviously doesn't like or respect himself either.

    This.

You need to be taking your own advice, crying troll.

    Amen :smt038

    Yep.

You need to remember there's a waiting list, Daddy Ra. ;)

You are so full of shit. You talk all kinds of shit about how you're too good for so many men, especially those on the forum, yet you take right up with the trashiest motherfucker on the board.

That fool has contributed NOTHING remotely positive to this forum, & has been disrespectful to EVERYONE here (which includes your clueless ass) since he got here with his profile which was banned. He's contributed nothing but negativity & stereotypical, racist, sexist bullshit, & there's nothing "real" about him but his IGNORANCE.

It appears that the only reason he's being "nice" to you is he sees that you've alienated yourself from the majority & it's convenient for him to use you as an ally. Of course, you have the perception of a damn brick, so it's no wonder that you don't see it.

He's not a victim & neither are you, so enough with the martyr bullshit already.

It's like I saw in another thread (I don't remember who posted it though), the only people who defend trolls are trolls themselves.

Sorry, I'm too relaxed tonight to get into topics I have no direct experience with... hopefully I never will (although I live in a pretty dicey neighbourhood - I try to keep it cool with my neighbours and hope nobody gets pissed at me or nothing happens to my car, that's about it, but I know lots of drugs get dealt around here)... No, I don't glorify gang violence but I've never really seen it firsthand so I can't speak to it. Just because I live in a black community doesn't mean I am knowledgeable about gang issues... I do have an idea of what he's saying though, but I'm coming from a different thought process. He's not "glorifying" gang violence - he was just illustrating a point about standing up for something you believe in, no matter what that thing happens to be - it might not be the best of examples, but whatever. I get it.

As far as the "black voice" is concerned... most black people have a "black voice". The same can be said for anybody from anywhere - it's a result of experience and culture, for the most part. Whether by accent or dialect or tone. My old boyfriend was raised in a certain town, in a certain county, and is black. I can identify people from that town and county by their accent from listening to his accent, moreso if they are black. He would not be mistaken for anything other than a black male over the phone because his voice is so *extremely* deep and resonant. Would James Earl Jones or the guy from Allstate have gotten their jobs if not for their beautiful voices? Think also, the KoolAid Man or Barry White... how many white men have voices like that? Not very many.

Love the Adele video... love the live time aspect to it - also her highly individualized voice which is soulful and robust, and has a lot of reggae/Caribbean tones to it, but is uniquely her own... it would be hard to say if she "sounds" black because I knew she was white from the start so I am biased...

There are very few white people that can pull this sound off and be real - there is a reason why so much GREAT music came from and still comes from black people. I still don't think that a choir full of Adele's, Amy Winehouse's, John Hiatt's, Crystal Lewis's, or whatever new little hipster dude on the scene that "sounds black" would sound like a real black choir.

What do you think about this guy? John Hiatt...the original writer of "Riding With the King", which was covered by Eric Clapton and of course BB King... he's a little older in this concert video, which was the best I could find on youtube... (guess he didn't make a video, since he sold that song as a songwriter)... - he has written SO many songs and is one of my favorites (seen him several times in concert... I think he is full of soul.)

OH MY GOD!! Two completely different thoughts and they both are incredulous.

Is there something about you people from Canada and "black voices" This is such a stereotypical statement and it's underpinned by your own words. The "quality of sound" would be a subjective matter, not one that can attributed to race. I'll grudgingly agree that you may be able to discern the racial make-up of a choir, but I totally disagree that you could garner a majority of people to say that the Black choir is preferable to the White choir. It depends solely on what individuals view as "quality" sounds. Some may enjoy a perceived soulfulness and interpretation employed by Black choirs. Others may view this as a distraction from the purity of the music. In fact, as a counterpoint, when I have listened to "competitive" Black choruses, they have attempted to focus on the music, without any interpretation, rendering the "quality" of sound no different than any other racially composed group.

As to the attitudes expressed toward the subject forum member, it's remarkable that you would go to the aid of someone who so obviously lacks all the things that you consider important. He has certainly not shown anything to suggest a meaningful level of accomplishments, in an age when degrees can be purchased online, if they're possessed at all. Neither does listing terms suggest anything about whether they are understood, let alone studied. When, the essence of what has been displayed is full of bravado and poor language skills, it's hard not to reach a negative conclusion, as everyone else seems to have done.

I'm so happy I read this after I had a good night sleep because you have a tendency to get me annoyed with some of your ignorant posts but I am seriously going to try and give you the benefit of the doubt even though your first paragraph had nothing to do with what we were talking about.
I am of Jamaican decent and as some on here who have spoken to me off the forum can tell you I sound nothing like a native Jamaican nor what you would consider the stereotypical African American voice. My vernacular is usually of a kid from NY who grew up during the 90s hip hop era mixed in with some patwa from time to time but mainly its more of a private school educated variety. My main point is what you make these offensive generalizations without any thought to what you are saying then get incredibly defensive when someone tells you that you are being offensive as if you are being attacked.
I think people from different regions do speak a certain way but its not race as much as it is the culture of that area. And we are way past segregation in most of the country so blacks and whites aren't in seperated groups with no influence from one another. Like southerners black or white have the same kind of drawl to me. People from the midwest sound a like to me regardless of race. I can tell the difference in New Yorkers like I can tell the difference between dudes from Yonkers, Long Island, and Brooklyn very easily even though the common stereotype is the Brooklyn Italian accent for all of us.
My overall point is it has a lot less to with race than it is actually region.

I know exactly what you mean about regional dialects... It's hard for me to tell midwest accents too. But I can tell if someone is from Russellville, Kentucky, or Cave City, Kentucky (sometimes) - down to the actual *county* I can also tell a Trinidadian accent from all of the other Caribbean accents, simply because of who my friends are...

Please don't think all or even many Canadians paint voices with a colour.

So with that being said how can you attribute a white or black sounding voice. Deeper and lighter voices sure

it all goes back to culture, region, and dialect. And partially, I believe.... science. I think that due to different facial/throat features, Africans (African people) would have a different sound - it just makes logical sense... but I have been wrong before. There are ALWAYS exceptions. It's just that 90% of the time, one can tell the race of the person one is going to meet, for example, if one speaks to them over the phone first. I say this, ONLY if the person were born and raised in the African American community. I would be really interested to find out what would have happened with someone like my old boyfriend who has a deep bass voice (like Barry White) - he hangs out with mostly white people YET is never confused for anything other than black. But what if he had been raised in a white household in the suburbs instead of in the country?

I love his voice..... have never met anyone who could compare to him, and would never want him to sound any different than his own precious self. I miss him, he was my friend :(and cherish the times when he calls, just to be able to hear him talk, because I know we don't have forever...

Don't even start to get uppity if you haven't lived in the South, my dear. I was born and raised in Canada, but my father was from Louisiana. I love people of ALL races and my family is multicultural. My family (that remains in Canada) are WONDERFUL people.
