well he could have been lurking for a while but not for 5 years.
I got confused from the "Such as Andrae and why he left and stuff that relates to that - even though it happend before he came here."

The andrae departure happened very close to the time he showed up. It isn't like you are mentioning joliemarie's depature or knca(her birthday passed) or iffy's wifey's.

It's pretty obvious, actually. I have the perspective of someone who is trying to figure out who's who. It's pretty clear that wwbm has seen its share of civil wars...

True, but if you dont sign up, you cant view the forums where things have gone down.
Andraes departure happend before Anthen came on board.
Andrae had some controversies attached to it - the ones you mentioned did not have any controverises what so ever going on before they left.
That is the difference, there were a lot of arguments and beef going on right before Andrae left and there were some sides being taken. That is what I mean Anthen has way too much knowledge of.

I agree w that also. Most boards have civil wars. But my jury is still out on you. Too many things...... just dont add up.
I guess time will tell. Im just intrigued.

Oh, I see now. That explains the firestorm. I "re-opened" a can of worms. I thought it was just me. Honestly, I'm just calling things the way they appear to me. I'm not that complicated - just awkward, it seems.

As far as race (and ethnicity) I usually go by features and what I see at first glance. I keep my opinions to myself and like the others have stated, let them identify as they see fit. Just cause someones Great-Great Grandfather was something, doesn't take away from the 95% of what they're left with - racially speaking that is.

When I look in the mirror, I don't see a fine looking African-American Man - I just see "me." It is this simple concept that eludes the racist...

See, this is actually the very thing I try and promote on these boards. Not sure why you're down on me.

We dont even use the term biracial in the UK. If you are really unlucky someone will call you half-caste(if you are biracial). Its considered offensive by some. I personally dont use it.It just doesnt sound right. The PC version is mixed race. Not sure about how right this sounds, but thats what I use.

Do you consider the survivors of the Stolen Generation and their children to be a bunch of whiners as well? Do you believe they've done more to cause chaos in their communities than the government that kidnapped them?

Anten, you took something I said in that thread entirely out of context. Some negative asshole made horrible claims about IR concerning older white women. It seemed unfathomable to me how these negative bullshit stereotypes seem to be created and perpetuated by the very people they are offending. It was not a blanket statement about black people and it certainly was not political.

Are you serious? You're still asking me this? If you really want to talk about Aboriginal issues, make a new thread and we can discuss it to your heart's content. It has nothing to do with this.

You act like I'm asking you map the human genome. Do you believe that the survivors of the Stolen Generation and their children are a bunch of whiners as well? Do you believe they've done more to harm their communities than the Australian Government that kidnapped them?

I really like this answer, you stated how you felt without coming off as arrogant or pretentious.

Like I said, I have no problem discussing Aboriginal history and current issues with you, but if you're actually interested, start another thread.

However, I will say this (as it's actually staying within the context of this conversation). If this were a forum full of Aboriginal men and white women, and I read a post by an Aboriginal man who was calling Aboriginal men "pathetic Abos" who have low standards for the white women they date and spouting other ridiculous racist stereotypes, and if it was one of multiple examples I'd seen on this board of Aboriginal men perpetuating negative stereotypes about themselves while white people argue against them, then yeah I would make the same call as I did here.

I recognise and appreciate that the majority of men on this board disagree with the bullshit stereotypes and actively try and dispel them. But when some people are continually shit-talking their own race, their own demographic... you gotta wonder.

Instead of a quarter page of nasty attitude, it would have been easier for you to simply admit that you don't know enough about the subject to answer the question...

Wow, it's like you don't actually read anything I write, you just discredit everything I say because of some random disliking you've taken to me.

I actually laughed at the irony this morning as I replied to your post suggesting I was ignorant about Aboriginal issues then walked out my front door to head to work to be greeted by my 40+ Aboriginal students and my 7 Aboriginal colleagues. I am immersed in Aboriginal culture, mate. I guarantee I know more about it than you. Like I've said twice already, if you really want to discuss Aboriginal issues make a new thread.

So you say. If that were the case, then it should have been an easy question to answer. You didn't hesitate to offer a string of negative opinions about African-Americans. Now that I'm asking you about your own parallel culture, you have nothing to say.

That's what I'd like to know.
