I saw a sneak preview of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 and it had a IR relationship between one of the girl Lena played by Alexis Bledel and Leo played by Jesse Williams. Great scenes of affection. Hope to hear from others whom had seen the flick.
I saw it mostly because it was a freebie. I was pleased that it is portrayed like a regular relationship. Something some directors would learn in seeing this flick.
I knew about this aspect of the movie for awhile but I was so uninterested in this type of flick that I didn't even care much for sharing anything with you guys.
shit.. i may give this movie a go, just for the fact that it has some IR in it i'm always interested in seeing THAT on the big screen
He looks like an "exotic" white guy like Wentworth Miller from "Prison Break" (also biracial). Put Alexis onscreen with Tyrese then we'll talk.
Sorry but Wentworth has this brother beat plus you know we come in all shades so it just depends if he's down and/or claims his blackness.
You see, notice how nobody(black man) complained about his skin color yet in this thread.... I almost NEVER see that kind of bickering happening among black dudes. If this was about a black woman, and white man, sisters would have already been complaining about the chick being light skinned(see this shit happen ALL the time) I rarely see that happening among Black men......
If it was a white man with a sista, they wouldn't have cared one bit. Only if it's a Black man will they try to raise hell. Go to imdb.com and search Idlewild. You'll see what I'm talking about.
Light-skinned lil' shawtees have always been catching hell, from dark skinned ones. God forbid if the shawtee was light-skin, had pretty light eyes, and her OWN long hair. I grew up around that kind of black-on-black drama. Not sure if it was caused by racial conditions (the closer you are to looking white, the better off you'll be) or just simple petty nonsense. As for myself, I've always had a preference for black women that were my shade, or lighter.
Hello! SmoothDaddy speaks the truth. They will take issue quite often when the man in question is black and the woman is lightskin. But I guess when it comes to IR ANY type representation in terms of skin complexion is okay with many black women.
It does happen on boards like these from time to time because some black guys aren't happy unless a 100% Zulu-Nubian represents all black men on the screen. Which is simply ridiculous. Problem is that unlike with black women you rarely see light skin black men on TV or in film. That's why folks can look at a guy like Jesse Williams and not see what I think are clear physical characteristics that indicate he is mixed. Meanwhile I swear any exotic or ethnic woman black women see in the media they assume is black. Doesn't matter if the woman is Indian, Arabic, Greek, non-black Hispanic, native American, etc. They assume she could be or has to be black. But this is expected because the media forever have placed very lightskinned black women in the spotlight to the point that some folks make that leap whenever seeing a non blue eyed,, non blonde chick.
