Shaft, that's a fine and fair response and I see where you're coming from. Nonetheless iIm simply asking people in general (not you specifically) to do a litle bit more deducing. Even if the eps weren't held back for as long as half a year the average viewer (which includes all of us on this board) knows that episodes of TV shows are filmed months in advance. Those who were aware that the new season's eps just started airing at the beginning of February 2008 (and I'm not sure who knew that but in this thread it was repeatedly pointed out that the new episodes would first air around this time) should have also known that anything involving Underwood's character was already in the can (as they say in Hollywood) way before viewers got a chance to see it and form an opinion about it. That's just common sense and it amazes me how that goes out the window often when these types of discussions concerning attitudes towards IR arise. That was my point.

By the way I don't know if you were joking but there is no big debate or discussion about this on the show's IMDB boards.

Omg I've totally missed the past couple of weeks of this show. Did anything significant happen with Christine's relationship? Do they have repeats on CBS?

I forgot one gorgeous brunette that always seems a little underrated.....Catherine Zeta Jones

Point taken. I can't really disagree with that of course. When it comes to any discussion of this sort I do try to always bear in mind that a message board is an extremely flawed means of exchanging ideas imo. Especially when a topic has some controversy to it. Sometimes a fact is overlooked, or forgotten (in this case the shoot schedule) and then someone comes in and fills in that missing piece (in this case- You. Reminding everyone that these episodes were already in the can.)- and then the convo shifts away from one of racial bias to something else. To me this isn't really a bad thing, it's the normal give and take that people have when they talk. I also believe the message board format (where it's impossible to get a sense of facial expression, vocal tone or body language) tends to distort the tone and mood of a message.

Allow me to use my bad screenwriting skills to illustrate what I mean-

Had we been having this same convo in a bar it may have gone something like this-

SoCal- Hey did you see Old Christine last night?

Shaft- Nope, what happened? Did he hit it?

SoCal- Actually they decided to call it quits. He felt she was too busy so they came to an agreement.

Shaft- That quick? Was it the hate mail?

SoCal- That's what I was wondering.

Jamal- Nah, they shot those episodes last year remember. It was
    probably planned out that way.

    SoCal- Oh right. Good point.

Shaft- Makes sense. Now what about that money you owe me from
the superbowl. I told you the Giants were gonna do it this year.

Jamal- Damn. Look at the time. I've got to go.

SoCal- Yeah. Gotta get up early. I'm out.

Shaft- So it's like that huh? Alright then, let's bet double or nothing
on the repeat. Giants in '09. Two rings in two years baby!

At this point, Jamal and SoCal dash out of the bar leaving Shaft with the check. (End Scene)

A convo like this which would have taken 15 minutes face to face might take eight days on a message board, making everyone involved look crazy and obsessed  .

Which is why I generally just lurk and steer clear of a lot of the more heated topics.

As for the IMDB. I used to frequent it, but I took a break because the amount of troll activity was getting ridiculous. I am a little surprised the Old Christine board is so calm. There have been times when i've been on IMDB and thought I clicked onto racist site by accident. Noble and I sometimes go to the "Something New" imdb board. Now THAT place is really something.

That second pic looks like Meg Tilly's sister Jennifer. Don't know what ever happened to Meg. Is she still even acting?

"In Treatment"? Not familiar with that show. I'll have to look into it.

Maybe the next generation of young actors could learn something from Blair Underwood in any case.

Hill Harper has also done some things on the ir front.

    What he said!

If you've watched the show since the beginning you would know that basically all of OLD Christine's relationships end up this way. It's part of why the show is so funny.

When I saw this thread was five (5) pages I didn't even have to open it to know why it was five pages. I knew the CONSPIRACY was in full effect.

Jennifer Tilly is more sexier than her sister Meg.

For anybody that remembers the original topic. The show is back on and she still has a brotha for a boyfriend.

Interesting on how they write the show and not make it a major topic. Surprised it doesnt get any media attention.

I would expect black women across america to have a big sissy fit over the show by now.

Really? I thought they got rid of Blair. The IR relationship was the only reason I watched the show in the first place.

Maybe I should check it out again. I just saw it on the TV guide tonight but decided to pass prior to your ^^ post.

I'm sure some black women still get territorial and jealous when they see a handsome BM hooking up w/ a WW but at this point in time, its become such a common occurence they probably just say, "fuck it".
