Prime Video Cancels The Peripheral Despite Season Two Renewal The Peripheral has been canceled at Amazon’s Prime Video, Variety has learned. The news comes despite the fact that Amazon renewed the show for a second season back in February. The series, based on the William Gibson novel of the same name, debuted on Amazon on Oct. 21, 2022. It starred Chloë Grace Moretz and hailed from executive producers Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan under their rich overall deal with Amazon. According to an individual with knowledge of the situation, the decision to not move forward with the second season was heavily influenced by the ongoing writers' and actors' strikes. In essence, even if the show was to go back into production soon, Season 2 would not be available until close to if not into 2025.
So, I beat "Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom" a few days ago. I'm still not finished with it since I'm still not at 100%, but I took a break so my son could borrow the game. I wasn't as excited as usual after watching the trailers, but I still liked the game. It was better than the trailers made it out to be, but it's not as great as I hoped it would be. The bosses were better than they were in BOTW, and there were some new things and tweaks to old things I liked, but overall it just didn't have the oomph I was hoping for. Hopefully they have some DLC in the works to perk things up a little bit. It's not the worst Zelda game by any means, but it didn't make it onto my list of favorites. It's definitely worth playing though.
All ya'll Snyder fans can finally stop all that "Restore The Snyderverse" bullshit because the man is literally giving ya'll his own sci-fi action universe...
Loki, WandaVision, and The Mandalorian become the first Disney Plus series to get physical releases. Three popular Disney Plus series are getting special physical releases – and we want them right now. Loki season 1, WandaVision, and The Mandalorian seasons 1 and 2 are set to be released nationally on Blu-ray Steelbook with collectible brand-new box art as well as collectible concept art cards. Each title will be available for pre-order on August 28. The Loki physical release contains a plethora of fun bonus material, including the official TVA orientation video hosted by Miss Minutes (Tara Strong), a blooper/outtake reel, a segment on season 1's production design that provides a sneak peek at season 2, Marvel's Assembled: The Making of Loki, and two deleted scenes: one that sees Mobius review some moments from Loki’s timeline, in which Frog Thor makes an appearance during Loki’s coronation, and another that sees Loki hold Sylvie hostage against the TVA in a standoff. Disney has not yet released the details for the other series releases. WandaVision previously made headlines as the first Disney Plus series to receive a physical release – but it wasn't what we thought. The announced SteelBook, created by independent home entertainment company Manta Lab, contained no Blu-ray or DVD disc of the actual series... nor was it an officially licensed Marvel or Disney product. Fans will be able to own physical copies of Loki season 1 on September 26, WandaVision on November 28, and The Mandalorian seasons 1 and 2 on December 12 – just in time for the holidays. Loki season 2 premieres October 6 on Disney Plus. For more, check out our list of all the upcoming Marvel movies and shows you need to know about.
R.I.P. Arleen Sorkin, original voice actor (and inspiration) for Harley Quinn Dead at 67 https://www.avclub.com/r-i-p-arleen-sorkin-original-voice-actor-and-inspira-1850778112
Okay, so the trailer clearly highlighted the over the top aspects of the manga/anime series because I'm three quarters of the way through the first season of this & the world building and character development aspects that are the hallmark of the series are spot on. Probably because the manga series creator Eiichiro Oda has direct input into what can & can't be changed in this live action adaptation. If this doesn't get a second season I'll be shocked.
Except for Invasion (which was quite possibly the most boring show I've ever seen) Apple TV+ is killing it with the sci-fi genre.
