Love Death and Robots is back for a third installment. The new episodes range from the unearthing of an ancient evil to a comedic apocalypse, telling startling short stories of fantasy, horror, and science-fiction with trademark wit and visual invention.

I hope they drop the Part I and Part II Naming @SilverSmith

But ugh man series are so distorted these days...its like being in the days when sequels were far less automatic.

A Heist Story seems pretty classic DnD.

Venom 3 Gets the Green Light at Sony Pictures

Sony Pictures has officially confirmed a third installment in the Venom franchise.
Chairman/CEO Tom Rothman made the announcement during CinemaCon, though details on the project are scarce.

The Venom films star Tom Hardy as journalist Eddie Brock and his symbiote Venom as they learn to work together to stop other alien symbiotes. The Spider-Man spinoff franchise has been a successful box office player for Sony. 2018's Venom grossed $856.1 million at the worldwide box office, while its 2021 sequel Let There Be Carnage grossed $502.1 million globally.

Hardy last appeared as Brock and Venom in the mid-credits scene of Spider-Man: No Way Home, following up on Let There Be Carnage's own mid-credits scene, which saw the duo transported to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

    Why?

Because the last 2 movies proved there are suckers who will gladly pay to watch trash just because their favorite comic character's name is attached to it. Plus doesn't hurt to state it's a Marvel property even when it's not attached to the MCU proper.

Neil Gaiman Responds to Claim That Netflix Sandman Will Fail for Going ‘Woke’

The Sandman executive producer Neil Gaiman responded to complaints that the Netflix series is doomed to fail because of its "woke" sensibilities.

Gaiman, who co-created the Sandman comics the upcoming adaptation is based on, tweeted that "Sandman went woke in 1988, and it hasn't gone broke yet." The author later added that the property is "the same thing now" as it was when the DC first published the comics over 30 years ago. Rather than the Netflix version going "woke," Gaiman suggested "time has caught up" with the comics' progressive themes.

Gaiman previously hit out at online commentators for taking issue with The Sandman's diverse cast, rejecting these objections as sexist and racist. "I give zero fucks about people who don't understand/ haven't read Sandman whining about a non-binary Desire or that Death isn't white enough. Watch the show, make up your minds," he declared.

The Sandman is the subject of renewed scrutiny after the show's eye-watering production costs surfaced online. Each episode of the Netflix series reportedly cost as much as $15 million, which puts The Sandman's overall budget in the region of $165 million. This price tag will almost certainly increase once marketing expenses are added into the mix, so it's fair to say there's a lot riding on The Sandman's success.
Netflix's reticence to announce a premiere date for the series has even sparked speculation that the streamer is cutting its losses by canceling The Sandman entirely -- something Gaiman has roundly rejected. The award-winning scribe described these rumors as "hilarious," implying that fans shouldn't treat The Sandman's lack of a launch date as cause for concern.

A recent cryptic tweet by the show's official account seemingly supports Gaiman's stance that The Sandman is far from finished. "Hello humans, has your sleep been troubled in my absence?" the tweet reads, seemingly in reference to both the in-universe status of The Sandman's protagonist and the real-world anxiety surrounding the series. It marked the official account's first activity since October 2021, which in turn has fueled theories that a renewed marketing campaign will soon commence.

The Sandman does not yet have a release date.

Avatar 2 Gets Title, 3D Teaser Unveiled -CinemaCon

After months, nay years, of suspense, Disney today unveiled the first trailer for James Cameron’s Avatar sequel, also giving the movie an official title. Now known as Avatar: The Way of Water, the 20th Century Studios sci-fi adventure releases overseas starting December 14 and heads to North America on December 16.

Producer Jon Landau came in from New Zealand to make the presentation on Avatar 2.

“The journey across all four movies will create a connected saga,” said Landau, “To achieve our goals, we need a strong partnership with you and the studio…an end-to-end community.”

Cameron beamed and sympathized with the exhibition about their closure during the pandemic, but he’s delivering something at the end of the year that must be seen in theaters.

He told the exhibition, “I just want you to hear it from me. Jon and I are here to work with you. The best way is by delivering content that is a must-see experience at the cinema.”

The Oscar-winning filmmaker said he was “hard at work putting the final touches on the film.”

The new films are “Pushing limits even farther with high frame rate, higher resolution 3D and greater reality in our visual effects. I wanted our return to Pandora to be something really special. Every shot is designed for the biggest screen, highest resolution, and most immersive 3D available. I think we pulled it off,” added Cameron.

The trailer will run exclusively in cinemas on Marvel’s Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness, which rolls out next week, beginning May 4 internationally and May 6 domestically. That drew applause in the room. The Avatar 2 trailer will then go online a week later.

The logline of the movie: Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) lives with his newfound family formed on the planet of Pandora. Once a familiar threat returns to finish what was previously started, Jake must work with Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) and the army of the Na’vi race to protect their planet.

    What’s in the trailer?

As Cameron always promised, Avatar 2 takes place in and around the ocean. Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Saldana) have children. “Wherever we go,” says Sully, “I know one thing, this family is our fortress.” The sequel looks even more jaw-dropping in its deep-blue visuals than the 2009 film. All new creatures: We see the Na’vi on flying fish bird creatures, communing with a whale, and yet somehow divided despite their affinity with nature: The alien people are split, battling against each other in a guns vs. arrows fight. It’s truly a whole new world upping the stakes of the previous 3x Oscar-winning film.

It was also revealed that Disney will re-release the original 2009 Avatar on Sept. 23 around the globe. Pic is getting remastering audio and sound. That film is the highest-grossing movie of all time worldwide at $2.8 billion, having overtaken Avengers: Endgame during the pandemic.

The sequel stars Sigourney Weaver, Kate Winslet, Michelle Yeoh, Stephen Lang, Giovanni Ribisi, Oona Chaplin, Jermaine Clement, and more.
