Disney+ Is Officially the Streaming Home for Daredevil, Jessica Jones and More Disney announced today that every season of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron First, The Defenders and The Punisher will arrive on Disney+ on March 16. This comes just weeks after Netflix confirmed that subscribers will no longer be able to access the series through the subscription service. The announcement puts to rest concerns about the shows' future, despite many fans suspecting that they would eventually find their way to Disney's streaming platform. “Disney+ has served as the home for some of the most beloved brands in the industry, and the addition of these live-action shows brings more from the Marvel brand together, all in one place,” said Michael Paull, President of Disney Streaming. “We have experienced great success with an expanded content offering on Disney+ across our global markets and are excited to continue that here in the U.S. as well by offering our consumers not only great content with the new Marvel additions, but also a set of features that help ensure a viewing experience most suitable for them and their family.” As the grittier shared universe of The Defenders arrives on Disney+, the service is also ushering in an update to its Parental Controls in the United States. Disney revealed that these changes will allow users to select content rating restrictions for each profile on an account, alongside the addition of a PIN code lock. Following the announcement that Netflix would no longer be hosting its suite of series produced in collaboration with Marvel Studios, many fans were worried that Disney may censor some of the show's more mature themes to fit the standard of its streaming platform. Cheo Hodari Coker, showrunner and creator of Luke Cage, expressed similar concerns. "They're going to do what they do. It's theirs," wrote Coker. "I just hope they don't sit on it for years to allow for an easier reboot, or re-air it with a different mix, or the N-Word muted. I'd love to do commentary tracks, or the original credits." The improved parental controls may be Disney's way of combating some of the darker elements of the Netflix series. When the Netflix-produced Marvel series hit Disney+ on March 16, they'll be accompanied by Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D which joins the platform on the same day.
Based on the DC Comics/Vertigo series, in a war-torn New York, Manhattan has become a demilitarized zone. Rosario Dawson stars as a mother separated from her son and searching for him in the DMZ. Benjamin Bratt plays a leader who rallies the masses to revolt. The adaptation will consist of four episodes, all of which premiere on March 17.
Maybe but since they are keeping who he's playing under wraps I think it may be a character with older (comic history wise) connections to Blade himself or other MCU characters. Again all depends on what direction they are going with vampires in the MCU. I don't think Dracula would be a one & done character for Blade in the MCU and could see that conflict playing out in possible sequels & other MCU movies/series since this current phase is setting up more mystical/supernatural elements.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds premieres on Thursday, May 5, with episodes releasing weekly. It is based on the years that Captain Pike manned the help of the U.S.S. Enterprise and follows him, Spock, and Number One in the years before Captain Kirk boarded the U.S.S. Enterprise, as they explore new worlds around the galaxy.
Did you guys know that a black man was in charge of the classic Spider-Man cartoon from the 90’s? This is his story.
I recall seeing the name in the credits but didn't know he was black. Didn't you also post something a good while back about Larry Houston the black animation director/producer who worked on tons of 80s & 90s cartoons, most notably the 90's X-Men cartoon?
First look at Karl Urban, Antony Starr, Jack Quaid, Erin Moriarty, and Jesse Usher in The Boys Season 3.
I honestly don’t remember. It sounds like something I would have posted. But, the more I think about it, I don’t believe I did. I usually remember something like that. But, as bad as my memory has been the last couple of years, it’s very possible I did and just don’t recall. Old age is a mf.
Like I said it was quite awhile back. I know someone posted it. Hell, it might even have been me. Old age is a muthafukka indeed.....
Black Adam Get A New Series DC today announced a new Black Adam series, by writer Christopher Priest and artist Rafa Sandoval, that introduces a new character into the world of Teth-Adam. In the new series, Adam is infected by a deadly plague that destroys his immortality. He transfers his powers to a successor, who will redeem his legacy and defend his kingdom, but when Adam is cured and the two become mystically “handcuffed” together, the result is a new, dysfunctional super-team. The first issue will be published on June 21 with a main cover by Irvin Rodriguez, variant covers by Rafa Sandoval, Mikel Janin, and Lucio Parrillo, a 1:25 variant cover by Crystal Kung, a 1:50 throwback variant cover by Cully Hamner, a 1:100 foil variant cover by Lucio Parrillo, and a team variant cover by Travis Mercer and Danny Miki. “DC has provided an amazing opportunity for me to explore and, to some degree, reimagine this character in a very new light while bringing new challenges and consequences to a man who has lived far too long and is desperate for redemption,” Priest said in a statement accompanying the announcement. “Rafa Sandoval brings palpable voltage to every panel, bringing out my Kirby-Simonson Big Noise instinct as Rafa’s gifts take me to places I never knew I wanted to go. My only regret is we only have 22 pages a month for this.” [via ICv2.com]
