ive been waiting for this since it was announced as a PS2 title way back when i'm also a huge fan of the Aliens film, ranking that as my all-time favorite movie based on Alien, and as one of my all-time favorites period. It had the best ensemble of characters and personalities (Hudson and Apone, anyone?), and it looks like the game is trying to do the same. Notice how the grunt gives his squad-mate the finger when he wakes up, lol. Shitbird antics like that made Hudson such a lovable and memorable guy, and I hope the game gives us more of that knucklehead bravado. Mind you the footage is work in progress, probably alpha, so don't judge it as final product. I'm sure it'll be tightened up in the beta phases. Allowing up to 4 player to run through the campaign is AWESOME also. I loved 4 player campaign mode in Rainbow Six Vegas and Call of Duty World at War. I'd definitely run some campaign servers online myself:smt026
Little info for the upcoming MMO Planetside 2, courtesy of their Senior Art Director http://www.planetside2.com/news/article41.html
LOOKS promising and the developer picked for the job is a good one. However, I see this as a stale FPS with a big name license.
ill probably buy it for the 4 player jump-in co-op. Many games in general with phenomenal campaigns end up stale, if they don't have a robust multiplayer function. For instance, myself and thousands of other people still play the Call of Duty games, because they have fun multiplayer modes. Although to be honest, Rainbow Six Vegas' campaign and game in general, was very well done. I've never had that much fun dying on the same fucking level, with 3 other dudes in my life, lol. Whether or not I have that much fun with Aliens, I dunno.
I did state that the developer behind this project is a safe bet, but I wouldn't guarantee the game to receive critical acclaim the same way other modern FPS have done. I've always been a single player person and never really cared too much for multiplayer games. Since Goldeneye 007 and Perfect Dark for the N64, there really haven't been a FPS series with a really robust and fun single-player mixed with multiplayer campaign. Sure, there have been some really good ones, but none which rivaled the N64 games.

stfu man my old geforce GTX 8800 768mb gaming card from 3/4 years ago died on me a few weeks back, and I can't get my Black Ops on anymore until I get another gaming card. That thing was old as shit but was still comparable to new cards because it was so beast (and costly) when it first came out. Believe me, when I get another card i'm going to get my Bf3/MW3 on. That thing used to run Crysis on FULL settings, lol
i thought about going the console route this time around, especially since ps3 doesnt charge any fees for playing online. Just plug n play that shit, so to speak the downside is that PC supports 64 racist mothafuckas (haha) while the PS3/xbox generally support 32, and still looks bangin' not to mention that the PC version will more than likely be just as mod-ready as Battlefield 2 was. The community made that game better than any developer patch.
just downloaded battlefield 3 beta for ps3..will give it a shot... on a side note..i still need a dedicated HDTV for my living room
Yeah, it would be better if we could fight a 64 man match on the console. A 32 man game feels pretty hectic. Twice that amount would be chaos. I'm fuckin' with the recon man. Call me the Neighborhood Sniper.
lol i like the lighting effects definitely... games like Left4Dead didn't have the juice to show the flashlights of other players, but with Battlefield 3 I immediately noticed having bright lights blinding me, as well as watching them dangle in the air realistically as guns moved. Unlike Call of Duty, battlefield has truly been upgraded giving gamers more reasons to buy it. I also like how you move in the game. When I ran and leaped into a train, it felt as if I was actually doing that. My player's legs kicked into the air and I geeked out. It makes you feel as if you're actually doing the physical work, like Mirror's Edge. Call of Duty? They probably didn't add any fun new stuff like that.
For real. The movements are crazy. Even when you're moving in prone position. Shit is hella realistic.
EA did the damn thing with that, lol. I'll probably end up buying all the shit anyway. I want to follow the story line of MW, but at the same time I want to get back to my roots with Battlefield.
i nerded out at some of my favorite characters portrayed in real time the guy in the 82nd airborne ww2 uniform looks like 'then' Corporal Hartsock (he gets promoted to sgt through the series) from Brothers in Arms, which is a good tactical shooter for the consoles incase anyone wondered what his role was as game character in the video ah scratch that...hartsock was 101st screamin eagle...guess that character is the lead from Medal of Honor: airborne
First Official AVENGERS trailer Hmm....Other than Iron Man there is very little Superhero-ing going on in the trailer.
This is basically a teaser for all intents & purposes. You know that as it gets closer to release date next year "the hook & reel in" trailers will be rolled out. On a side note, ll'm kind of iffy about Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner. Ed Norton nailed the character to me but I'll give Ruffalo a chance to see what he does with the role.
