    Ladies & Gentlemen,

this thread was created to acknowledge the greatest interracial love/sex television show there ever was or will be - 90210. The series finale airs on the CW tomorrow night 9 est.

Each and every season had substantial interracial engagements and often relationships during the course of its five-year broadcast. It's the ONLY mid-major network television show where each and every actress of its central cast had interracial love/sex scenes. We were discussing the merits of this under-appreciated interracial series on IR-TUBE last week and I just wanted to gauge some analysis here on this forum: http://ir-tube.net/forum/hollywood-movies-t86816-140.html

That's sad but five seasons with that bad writing was plenty

I was wondering if someone would mention this. Even though it used to be a guilty pleasure of mine, I only caught about nine eps this year but I saw enough to know Naomi semi-hooked up with one black guy this season (kissed him despite the fact that she was married) and went all the way with that Robbie Jones dude in some of these final eps. With her that makes five for five of the opening-title-credits young white females getting involved in a relationship with some black dude (including the blonde surfer who left last seasosn). Of course it should be pointed out that Tristan Wild's character was responsible for three of those five female characters going IR but it still counts. Compare that to a show like "Charmed" in which there seemed to be an unwritten rule that a black male couldn't even touch a white female (not even that black dude who played the police detective for all those years).

^^Some of the writing was quite compelling but after season 1, they re-assigned the original writers and the show became less family-oriented. When the new writers took over with the season 2 debut, the plot became more like those of a soap opera but ratings soared.

It's better than some token interracial scenes we have received from the big 4 networks - hell BET never provided this liberal a show loaded with young interracial love/sex scenes. All of 90210 's actresses have made out with black men - all six of the primary actresses!!!

Just consider how far network television has advanced in portraying substantial interracial engagements: Beverly Hills 90210 aired in 1990, nearly twenty years before, and any hint of interracial relationships were merely given token attention and then cast aside and discarded.

Same with Buffy till they moved to UPN and even that was with the ex con slayer not the main character. Same goes for Gossip Girl, Smallville, Supernatural, and Vampire Diaries. Well unless it's a white dude with a black girl which never seems to be a problem. Guess we're no that post racial yet

Yes! Yes!! Great observation my brotha!!! That brotha should have received more than just some teasing and taunting by Alyssa Milano when she was demon-possessed. Like the predecessor of 90210, Charmed was another :smt038 Aaron Spelling's brainchild - nothing more than a mere hint of interracial engagements if that.

I never watched Beverly Hills ,90210. I didn't care for it because of the setting. Beverly Hills. Do any of you know who Paul Williams is? He was a black architect who built many homes in Beverly Hills. His clients included Gregory Peck, Clark Gable and many others. While he helped to develope this area, he wasn't allowed to live there. He developed an area for the black community in Los Angeles. He lived there. When the new show came out, I didn't watch it , either. I saw a fair share of swirling on The Young & The Restless and The Bold & The Beautiful. Plus, with the exception of Smallville, I did not watch any program on the CW. Perhaps, it maybe available on dvd. I might consider watching it.

^^Gorath, what did you think of the info from the hyper-links I provided referencing 90210?

I did. The scenes were romantic between Dixon and Adrianna. But, imho, I'd have to be in my late teens or early twenties to fully appreciate it. I could only see these two and what they feel for each other. The two young actors had great chemistry. But, I would rather wait for the dvd.

I've heard of Paul Williams one of the greatest Black architects in the US. Is there a DVD set of Seasons 1 to 4 of this show? I have not seen that show only the show years back where there was no swirling. I credit the writers, directors, and producers who makes a brother character 'expands' his horizons in White and other females.

Alyssa is finally doing interracial love scenes now (Jason George). The series premiere of "Housemaids" launches next month on either ABC or Lifetime

Of course the seasons are available on Netflixs or online via various mediums. Some local libraries will carry entire seasons even. Season 2 is when the ratings soared but I really happened to enjoy season 1 just as much even though the scriptwriters had demonstrably different visions.

^ There are two different shows airing this summer - I got confused. "Devious Maids" airs on June 23 via Lifetime with Rosalyn Sanchez and its ensamble cast, while Alyssa Milano and Jason George get it in on "Mistresses" beginning June 3 on ABC.
