C'mon people, why did it take this long for this thread to be created?

TDK easily surpasses its predecessor. Nolan manages to turn your typical summer blockbuster into a tragic and cerebral crime drama. So many twists and turns through out the film, and the thing is....I spoiled myself a little by watching all the trailers and clips. I thought I had it all figured out, but the movie still had a few tricks up it's sleeve. Ledger, oh where to begin? He without a doubt makes quick work of Nicholson's performance. For those who haven't seen it yet, be warned that he does something in the beginning that sets the dark mood for the rest of the film. You truly get the sense that the Joker is completely incapible of empathy or compassion to anyone including himself. You will be amused and terrified at the same time. I'm seeing it again this weekend.

Seen it twice. Great movie. But frankly this site isn't the place I consider when discussing movies taht don't either 1)have an IR slant or 2) doesn't have any black leads. So that's why I didn't write anything about it here. But I've made my points about it on IMDB, AICN and Rotten Tomatoes. You won't see me discussing the "Watchmen" trailer here either because of the reasons I made above.

Had no interracial romance. Therefore it sucked. Nobody else go and see it.

JS and BC,you hit it on the head. Hollywood can bring excitement but, they won't have a brother with super powers have a love interest.

I saw this movie twice opening weekend, and I want to see it again on an IMAX screen. What can I say? I'm a movie nut!

Quick review: I thought the movie was phenomenal. I saw the midnight show on the 18th and stayed awake throughout the entire 2 1/2 hours. No small feat, since I'd been up since 6:30 a.m. Then I saw it again on that Sunday, and it was even better the 2nd time.

I love, love, love this movie! :D It's the best movie I've seen so far this year. I hope that Ledger gets at least a nom for his performance. He was incredible. His Joker is truly diabolical in every sense of the word.

I could go into more detail, but I won't. In fact, I could talk about this movie for days and not get bored. Other superhero movies this summer that I've seen that I loved: Iron Man (phenomenal movie in its own right) and The Incredible Hulk (great movie). But, neither of them holds a candle to TDK, in my opinion. Iron Man comes closer than Hulk. But, TDK had so many story points and every single one of them was wrapped up neatly by the end.

I love the new direction that this series is going.

Great movie! I wish they had went into the history of the joker more, although TDK did stay inline with the comic book in that the joker's origins (who and how) are unknown.

However, I still have to go with the michael keaton batman as the best ever. It set the standard for great comic book movies and gave TDK a target to shot for as a great movie.

Not to mention, the michael keaton batman is filled with great one-liners!

Loved it except the only people the Joker flat-out killed on camera (as opposed to dying off-camera or killed without him physically being there, i.e. bombs) were Black guys.

Other than that it was damn near operatic.

No Watchmen preview where I saw it. Boooooooooooo.

I noticed that, too.. ah well...

ledger's death is all the more tragic now.. I wish he were here, whether he'd be interested in a sequel or not.. better to retire the joker from this series of films..

I'd like to see the Riddler out of batman's primary rogues.. other than that, I'd be fascinated to see:
Man-Bat; Killer Croc; Black Mask; Holiday; Hush...

--I'd also want to see some bat-allies, but I guess Nolan is dead-set against it, so hopefully Batgirl and Robin will end up in the Teen Titans movie..

LOL you're such a geek. One good Batman flick and you want to see the whole rogue's gallery  Christian and Nolan are signed for only one more movie.

Batgirl was never a Teen Titan by the way.

no no, -two- good Batman flicks! Batman Begins was fantastic.

I wanna see this flavor of Batman's female villains, so badly. Christian Bale-Batman and Harley Quinn??? Catwoman? Poison Ivy?!? Ohhh, it'd be hot. Especially if they did not use Uma Thurman, dear god what a mistake that was.

    I just wanna see Harley.

It would be cool to see a female villain next time. Since they established copycat Batmen this time, it would make sense if they are copycat Jokers next time. Harley could be one.

Heath Ledger is easily the star of this movie, very brilliant performance from what I feel would have been an A-list actor.
