    My mother was "The Help." She lived it. She helped raise the children of a white family in the 50's. Those children, now adults, still remember her and even helped her get a place to live. They still keep in contact to this day.

    i was mad that the author stole her maid's story nd didn't want to pay her.

    My relatives on both on my mother's and father's side worked as domestics. I'm glad The Help was made into a movie because I did not know that for example some of the Black help can't go to the bathroom in their employer's house.
