I know there are reports of Black Americans being swamped like rock stars once they set foot in the Balkans. Generally, everyone assumes that they're just curious about outsiders they've never seen before, but I think that's a crock. The Balkans were colonized and possessed by people of color for many centuries. Remember, the Moorish/Ottoman empires occupied parts of Europe till the 20th century -- and that's the part. Personally, I think the Balkans are color struck. They spent all those centuries forced to look up to those superior, darker people would ruled their lives and rocked their worlds. Then you add this other layer that SOME of those cool darker people actually had the same kind of experience and dealt with it really well (certainly a lot better than they have). 'What heroes! And they actually came here to see us!! Oh for joy!'

I know of the basketball players but, other than that I had not seen a lot on Black men dating Serbian,Croatian,or Bosnian women.

What about the arts? What is the music of these regions like?

My grandfather played the tambritza, a small mandolin. The music sounds just like Greek music to me.

    It's Greek to me!

Thanks. I like Greek music. So, I guess I will like Serbian/Balkan music.

If anything these people in the Balkans have ressentment feelings towards the ottomans, and there isn't much connecting black people on one side and moors and ottomans on the other aside from the fact they are darker than europeans.
