The Alternate God: A Summary of the Belief It's grounded in our superstitious mindsets that there are unknown, spiritual forces which propelled the creation of earth and its inhabitants. While the vast majority of people still adhere to the idea of magic in its many forms, there are a group of people who believed in alternate ideas, regarding the heavy use of ancient technology and ancient beings who have interacted with humans on planet Earth. For centuries, and even more so decades of recent past, a collective bunch have stumbled upon some wild theories regarding some of the marvels of the past -- structures which could not have been done my human hands, assuming that their ideas are correct. Hence, the concept of Ancient Astronauts came to be. Source 1: Ancient Astronauts Theory Proponents of ancient astronaut hypotheses often maintain that humans are either descendants or creations of extraterrestrial beings who landed on Earth thousands of years ago. An associated idea is that much of human knowledge, religion, and culture came from extraterrestrial visitors in ancient times, in that ancient astronauts acted as a "mother culture". Ancient astronaut proponents also believe that travelers from outer space known as "astronauts" or "spacemen" built many of the structures on earth such as the pyramids in Egypt and the Moai stone heads of Easter Island or aided humans in building them. It's true that much of the structures we have seen, either in books or in person, are truly very fascinating and some of the greatest marvels known to man. However, could we simply disregard the humans of old as being great engineers and architects of such wonders, or is there some truth in the matter of ancient beings descending from the stars and bringing knowledge into the underdeveloped world of old? Here are some more links showing more information regarding the theory of Ancient Astronauts. Source 2: Ancient Astronauts and It's History Source 3: Ancient Astronauts Theory
A lot of people think the Bible is hysterical - unbelievable fantasy and myths - and think that people who believe in God and the Bible are silly fools. I'd rather be a silly fool than try to summon up any faith in theories such as this. :smt102
I'm going to leave it alone because it's your faith, but it leaves so much to be desired/explained IMO
No, they actually fill in the holes that tradition religion refuses to address. All you ever hear is "God works in mysterious ways"
Maybe those holes aren't meant to be filled in, and I can't accept man's attempt to make up something to fill that void.
Okay, I can't accept man's attempt to write religious books, to explain what science can easily explain. All I do know is according to the 3 Abrahamic religions, the Earth isn't even 7,000 years old, which is laughable.
No intelligent person of faith takes that literally. The Bible shouldn't be read like it's an archeological document.
I still dont get why either side tries to pursuade the other. Those who believe will continue to do so and those who dont will never have their minds changed. Why cant they live and let live. If you believe what youre saying is the truth why do you need to convince others? The origin of everything is still a mystery to us and think both sodes should knock it off with all the arrogance that shit screams weakness
Well intellect is debatable, I'm stating what ALL 3 Abrahamic religious books all agree on, not just the Bible. And whether it's taken literally or not, it's still laughable IMO. Or maybe just another one of God's mysteries, smh
I think youre mistaken if its not taken literal its no laughable. Just a book of fables meant to teach us to be good to one another because we are all we got. Great message imo
If not taken literal than how? Why are these books designated as "holy" if nothing more than a collection of fables? I don't knock anyone for their beliefs, my father is Muslim, my mother is Christian, and I don't belittle what they believe...nor would I anybody else. I'm stating in my opinion there are ideas presented in these books, taken literal or otherwise, that I find laughable...which is my right, no?
And please keep in mind, that I do believe in a higher creative power...Grand Architect if you will. Our universe is a product of intelligent design. So I'm no Atheist or anything.....
Oh yeah definitely. I think calling it holy is what messes everything up. Its jist a perspective to me
The Bible doesn't claim the age of the earth. How can it when the length of a day is still under heavy debate? Some may have tried to determine that age by things written within, but there's nothing that's agreed upon.
You're absolutely right babe, but through genealogical inference you can make certain determinations. I'm not going to get into it with you because I like you and I respect your beliefs. They're just not for me...
