My God this shit really puts me on edge. Well fuck it its time to start protecting ourselves and teaching our kids to do the same. And to be real I know its wildly unfair but start dressing better give these assholes absolutely no excuse to cry thug. Don't leave a single doubt in the mind of any on the fence racist because its the world we live in right now and I'd rather not where "threatening" clothing and keep my life

Damn, you right. I was thinking there were a total of three kids to in the car. That does put a different perspective on the outcome. A really fucking crazy one!

Excellent point about the other three in the car compared to the victim being solo.

Messed up thing is these kind of folks are so blinded by hatred that it doesn't matter how well dressed and well spoken a black man may be, all it takes is for them to see that skin color and it sets off their nigger alarm. They would still try to present a black victim as a social degenerate that deserved to be gunned down for being a thug, even if dude wasn't. It's the notion of the scary black perpetrator effect they are aiming for.

But I do think the way you carry yourself matters. I don't hear this brutal shit happening to kids who look like they they could be in a Gap commercial its always kids who look like they're auditioning for G-UNIT. And let me make this absolutely clear, I'm not condoning the brutality and don't think its right for honest law abiding people to have to cow tow to racist but at the end of the day I want my brothers home safe, I want my father home safe, I want my nephews home safe, I want my uncles home safe, I want my cousins home safe, I want my friends home safe, and I want to be safe. We have to deal with the realities of our world and bottom line those I am scared of the black boogy man is going to look absolutely ridiculous if you're wearing penny loafers and dockers.

It's ridiculous. So he's convicted of attempted murder, but the one he succeeded at? No conviction. That's stupid.

Let's see what happens in the sentencing phase.

They already deliberately charged dunn with the wrong offense, in order to confuse and disrupt the process of conviction. They may have had plants in the jury to confound the deliberation and make it drag on to the point that jurors are ready to agree to any verdict just to go home. Now where it comes to sentencing, they prolly have the perfect judge in there to ensure that the sentence is light.

These kinds of trials are political and meant to send a message. I wouldn't be surprised if his sentence is light to nil.

That's the bully dude. If they hate, they're hating you for a deficit within themselves, not for anything to do with you.

I've been hated dressed clean while on the job. No one's "threatened" there, right?

Dunn was an armed bully with a sense of impunity because of america's race equation.

If you go back far enough, you'll see that it can happen to anyone black. The lady who knocked at the door after her traffic accident? Was she a thug? Black guys who get chased down and assaulted for being in the wrong section of queens after dark? Lots of examples. Has nothing to do with thuggism, except as an excuse after the fact.

I'm specifically talking about these cases that try to claim intimidation.

Their fault for being so paranoid; I don't get edgy around people with confederate flag symbols or bandana wearing mexicans. My first instict isn't to grab my gun for fear of a race based assault yet these people get off scott free for it.

Intimidation shouldn't even be an option to claim.

LOL, reminds me of when I was in college and among a group of friends who were all white, some kids who were visiting for the weekend asked me if I had or knew a spot to get weed. I was like isn't this some shit, I don't even smoke, the white kids who idolize Jim Morrison, The Grateful Dead and Phish would know more about pot than me, but of course they asked the only brotha in the room. Some folks just see the skin color above all else that forms their views.

keyword: "claim". The intimidation stuff is just an excuse.

The key ingredient in these incidents imho, is the shooters' sense of impunity, whatever else goes into their decision to shoot.

Shoot first, make something up later, and chances are the courts will buy it. They know this to be true.

GQB,it is sad that we had to tell young Black men that things had never changed since 1619. The White conservatives and their house slave friends would tell you a fairy tail of things are more fair and just. Never believe their ilk since they would would mostly enable the racists who kill young Black men with impunity. They are the real race hustlers.

Well stated points by Jesse Williams. No sugar coating and spitting it raw about how these kind of incidents are reflective of a lack of respect for black life.

Would this man have shot up a car full of white teens over such an incident or would he have placed more value on their lives and refrained from deadly force.

Fucking excellent. I love that his privilege doesn't prevent him from seeing the problem and speaking out against it. He's a role model.

I don't watch tv so I have no idea who this guy is but he delivered a powerful message and I'm glad to see more and more people talking about the continued racism in this country. We can't ignore it and pretend like it doesn't exist. Kudos to Jesse Williams for speaking so candidly.
