The best government money can buy...literally. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/04/03/us/politics/supreme-court-ruling-on-campaign-contributions.html?hp http://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/13pdf/12-536_e1pf.pdf
Yep, American politics at it best, just disgusting. Government of the money, by the money and for the money. I don't even care about politics, it pretty much serves money and corporate agendas that shape policies.
When the 2nd American Revolution happens, or more likely when this democratic experiment implodes, everyone can point to the Roberts' Supreme Court as the one that planted the dynamite that blew up our system of government. It shouldn't be that hard for a SCJ to understand that MORE money injected into elections is corrosive and destructive to the functioning of government. When elected officials are more concerned about fulfilling the interests of a few billionaires and couldn't give a damn about the rest of the 300+ million they're elected to serve, it's time to burn the whole thing down and start over again. Justice Roberts is turning into one of the most radical and controversial Chief Justices in recent memory. It's really a damn shame the number one qualifying trait for higher political office isn't experience, ethics and integrity in a candidate, but only about how much money you can raise from wealthy donors who own you for the remainder of your political career.
And this sadly is the case for both so called parties. Money is the name of the game and nothing else matters at the end of the day. Its all about if you can buy influence with your deep pockets. What kind of democracy is this exactly, when Corporations run things with their lobbyists in Washington.
I haven't had the chance to really sit down and go through the opinion with a fine toothed comb but this court is stretching the First Amendment to the breaking point. At the rate we're going the court might as well go ahead and interpret the Constitution to allow corporations to run for President.
Precisely bro. If your pockets aren't fat, you're irrelevant in America and to the political influence that shape policies according to their paymasters wishes. Legalized briberies frankly. SMH. We hold these truths to be self evident that all "giant corporations" are more important and are entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of the your local politician through the almighty dollar .
