The late Russ Meyer has always been one my fave directors...and 'Supervixens' is my fav Russ Meyer flick. It has no IR (there's a sex scene bet. a Afr-Am bodybuilder and a busty Afr-Am model, though)...but it was 'edgy' for the times (circa '75). BTW, I'd luv to do an IR version of this flick...though without all the violence. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Supervixens_DVD_cover.jpg The Kid Rasta 8)
Yeah. I've always liked Russ's material. The movies have a kind of psychedelic feel to the. But don't fret on the lack of IR. Remember, like everything else in Hollywood, IR was simply a no-no back then. Even now at times. Russ did what he could with Hollywood's limitations and America's bigotry. But you are right about the black couples. It seemed as if Russ was the one who never forgot that, pound for pound, black couples are just as erotic as other ethnicities. And he showcased it in a very legitimate way in his movies. Not like today. In Hollywood now, blacks can't even date blacks on TV or in movies anymore. I was just watching that new show on NBC called "Windfall." Apparently, several people all win the lottery and deal with the pros and cons of it. There is a black chick on the show, and the best they could write on her is she has a young son and no man. Interestingly enough, everybody else on the cast (white, Hispanic, mixed) are all in relationships or dating someone. But that's America for you.
Kid, I too, am a fan of Russ Myers and bought both "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls" and "Vixen" with almost had an interracial sex scene in it. Mr. Myers flirted with interracial sex but never cross the line.
I wished one of those rappers can do a film like Russ Myer like Luke Campbell but with a IR twist of course.
