Student sues for $2mill over FB Bikini Pic

That's a lot of money...However, she has a legal case, I believe... not sure she will win, though.

The unnamed school official did later apologize, in writing, explaining that the image had been “randomly chosen.”

Chaney did not accept the apology. She also remains skeptical of the motive.

“I just don’t think it was random,” she said. “It wasn’t my main picture. You had to go looking through it.”

 

she's right but $2 million? if anything it will give her 15 mins of fame.

 

dont blame her but the amt maybe too much but she will win. they were stupid for not asking her first

 

I would feel the same way she does I guess, but to sue for that kind of money seems over the top.

 

Maybe she should get $250.000.00. Maybe. $2,000,000. Excessive.

 

No matter what, she's proving their point.

 

She has no case. Public space and public domain. If the pictures were used to promote a product, maybe.... in this context, I highly doubt she'll see penny 1, unless the school board decides to just settle out of court instead of wasting their time and money.

2mil is ridiculous, she probably won't get that much but I do agree that it was wrong of them to use a student to prove a point like this.
