you mean "she" ...i think that is what gets me more than anything...i almost expect young white college men to do stupid shit like have a compton cookout...when i heard that these college age women attended the compton cookout with their faces painted black sporting nappy hair i just lost respect...i think that i hold ww to a higher standard than wm...i'm disappointed by the whole scenario that is going on at this san diego school...shameful
fo'sho no need for noose hanging on a campus, where it's hard enough being outnumbered 49 to 1 racially.
mug you better act like you know, or yo ass is gonna get murk'd 'ay yo, i seen tony's ass swingin hard from some 20 foot oak last night, no joke'
It's a bunch of immature kids pushing limits. They're playing around thinking it's funny. I'll put a weeks salary that it was a dare or sorority prank. Kids that young in this country are too spoiled to mean something like this in a negative way and make a political statement about it. Immature behavior reigns supreme here.
It was a point in time where the very sight of a noose would strike fear into any black man for obvious reasons. Those days are long gone.
We embrace the thug culture and then get mad when other mock us...we have to learn to control OUR own images! I'm not suggesting we go the extreme Afro-centric route. Hell, even some us dogged The Cosby Show for not being authentically black. Keep in mind some of those people would rather watch Good Times, a show about black people struggling ant not getting a break. Then there was a black superhero show (M.A.N.T.I.S.), we allowed it to be canceled, but we supported and even cried when there was the thought of canceling such buffoonery and coonery such as Martin (yes it was funny at times, but lets get real, it was a '90s minstrel show).
Let's not forget that many parents would rather buy their kids $900 gym shoes than teach them common sense.
We need to build a time machine and send you back to the '50s-early '60s where your good sense and future knowledge could do some good. It is lost on these hip-hop crack babies of 2010 you might as well be speaking Chinese.
LOL. A whole generation is clueless. Knowing that there are young men like Tony Hansberry and others out there put my fears that the future of black people is not all doom and gloom. Growing up, I've seen and experienced so much stupid shit. As much as I respect and admire Dr. King, some blacks believe that it was the civil rights movement and integration that ruined us, and to a certain extent...they're right. Pre-civil rights, we (blacks) were like the Jews and other ethnic group: we had our own businesses and controlled our money. We don't have that no more. Look at inner-city Detroit. Ain't no black owned supermarkets...all owned by Arabs that sell sub-quality products. Same thing with the gas stations. My granddaddy owned a Shell station, but eventually sold it. My auntie had a clothing boutique, but from what I understand, it was just jealous bitches that made her close shop. Then I have other relatives who had talent and creativity and were all-around smart, but made poor decisions...well enough ranting for now. Wait, but now hip-hop has become real life. And there's a generation of crack babies who don't know any better.
Watch out before you get labeled an "old head" 'cause you don't co-sign that shit. Writing complete, legible sentences is also the kiss of death.
