I had to share this because this particular really had me laughing my ass off beyond control today. This is relatively new on my end, so if you heard this before or it's been posted already, then disregard this thread altogether.

WARNING: May piss off some people. Read at your own risk.

    MY TAKE

I'll refrain from making any statements on this particular thread, but I do have a position on this whole matter. Whether it would incite confusion, anger, or what have you will remain unseen until I'm willing to give out my two cents. After all, I would rather hear what you guys think.

By the way, there is a counteraction to this challenge in the form of Raising the Flag. So, consider this just another form of freedom of expression or something that needs to be toned or illegal?

    Your thoughts?

People should have to serve/defend the constitution before being entitled to their 'freedoms'

He says he's a New Black Panther and a terrorist against White people and America. What is there to discuss. He's trash.

IDK if he was born here, but for every Black person that was, this is HOME.
THEIR country. Their flag. Black folks stories, souls and culture is embedded in the fabric of the American flag.

False, it is not illegal for the flag to touch the ground. Those are guidelines.

    You are absolutely correct, Bookie.

    U.S. Federal Law 18 USC §700 (Section 700)

Desecration of the flag of the United States; penalties

(a)(1) Whoever knowingly mutilates, defaces, physically defiles, burns, maintains on the floor or ground, or tramples upon any flag of the United States shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for not more than one year, or both.

Depending on the circumstances, police and/or courts generally don't enforce the Law punitively, but it is 100% illegal.

Stop spreading misinformation, desecration of the American flag is protected under free speech. Post an recent news piece or article of someone being arrested or charged for desecration of the us flag and I'll shut the fuck up gladly.

Reading the articles, none of the cases were about burning the flag. Rather, they were all arrested commonly for arson, among other offenses. But for burning the flag? None of them specifically for the desecration of the American flag.

    Then you need to re-read.

In fact, the first link clearly states he was arrested and charged for "the destruction of the U.S flag".
It is a Class A Misdemeanor under Texas State Law.

The first link does not work. And I have read the articles carefully. In fact, the seconf, third, and fourth links clearly specified that they were not charged for flag burning. Rather, accounts of arson, disrupting the peace, etc...

With the first link, please scroll down to 'continue to mobile app'..it directs you to the story. (It won't allow me to C & P)

In the other NY case, he was charged with a 'hate crime' for burning the flag, along with arson.
