Obama is spending less than a day there. I don't know if Chairman Steele and the rest of the Republicans who have jumped on this fake controversy aware of this fact, but there are telephones, computers and video conferencing equipment on Air Force One. The President is more than capable of running the government from anywhere on the planet.

If Chicago got the Olympics, it would mean thousands of jobs and incredible investment in new infrastructure not to mention the prestige for the country as a whole. This is yet another example of how the Republicans will seize on anything no matter how absurd to score political points. It's not as if there aren't valid reasons to criticize President and his administration. I honestly don't know how anyone takes the elected Republican officials in this country seriously anymore. They contribute nothing to the national political debate besides name calling and ridiculous lies and seem to be either totally uninterested or incapable of effective governance.
