Wow, they're using the Inquisitors from the "Star Wars: Rebels" animated series. If you're a Star Wars fan who's never watch "Star War: The Clone Wars" & "Star Wars: Rebels" animated shows, some of the stuff in live action Star Wars shows will go over your head.

As long as they are keeping the same gritty tone of Rogue One this should be one of the better Star Wars offerings that they've put out. My biggest issues with the Star Wars franchise has always been for something called "STAR WARS" they leaned too much on the space fantasy elements and shied away from the gritty war elements. Granted that's because everything was aimed more towards kids/family when conceived, but once they decided to expand beyond the Skywalker centric elements of the franchise the sky should be the limit IMO.

Star Wars: Ahsoka Casts Its Live-Action Ezra Bridger

The upcoming Star Wars Disney+ series Ahsoka has found its live-action Ezra Bridger.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Eman Esfandi will play Bridger in Ahsoka. He'll join Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano, Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren and Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker. Mary Elizabeth Winstead will also play a role in the project, though it's not clear at this time just who she'll be. Esfandi's credits include playing Sam in 2019's Austin Weird, Barry in 2021's King Richard and Ismail in 2022's The Inspection. Additionally, he played a role in the 2019 Robert Rodriguez film Red 11. The outlet notes that another website, Cinelinx, first reported the news.

Debuting in the animated Star Wars Rebels series, Bridger was originally voiced by Taylor Gray. The character begins the show as a street urchin on the streets of Lothal. However, he soon meets Kanan Jarrus, a Jedi who survived Order 66, and trains under him. Over the course of the series, Bridger faces such classic Star Wars foes as Darth Vader. However, his most noteworthy enemy is, perhaps, Grand Admiral Thrawn, whom Bridger sacrificed himself to stop. It's not clear at this time what exactly happened to Bridger since fans last saw him. However, Ahsoka looks likely to finally answer that question.

At the time of writing, specific plot details for Ahsoka are scarce. The show takes place following the events of 1983's Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi and Ahsoka's return in both The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. It's unknown at this time if Katee Sackhoff will reprise her role as Bo-Katan Kryze for the series, though there's been much speculation that she will.

It's possible, if not likely, more details about the show will be revealed at D23, which is having a studio showcase that includes Lucasfilm from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM PT on Sept. 10. While it's not yet officially been renewed for a second season, Dawson has said she's hopeful that a second season of Ahsoka will get greenlit. Additionally, Dave Filoni, who co-developed Ahsoka, has praised the series, calling it everything that he'd hoped for.

Developed for Disney+ by Jon Favreau and Filoni, Ahsoka is expected to release at some point in 2023.

When I first heard of this I was kind of hoping Disney/Lucasfilm was going to delve into some old "canon" stories.
Like these Old Republic era comics.
