This is not a bash thread!!! Some of the negative things said about BW or WM have merit and can be discussed without being mean or juvenile. We are not there yet on this one.

Chi take it easy baby girl. Threads always get derailed but I think why the plight of ww of the past doesn't get mentioned or discussd because we currently live a world where ww are reveared, they are protected and given special treatment. Ww rarely if ever get the death penality for the same crimes their hispanic and black female counter parts do. I'm not saying you have it completely easy but the suffering is no longer as apparent. Where as black men.....

I've heard about that, too. I've been meaning to see Magdalene sisters, thanks for reminding me about the film.

    Agreed Robina.

I don't view that as bashing a WM, it was clearly a photoshopped pic meant to be in jest, and that's how everyone took it. If it had been a BM, it would have received the same reception. Everything is not about race.

I personally don't bash BW or WM as a whole, I realize that there are unpleasant individuals in all races and genders, and that one or two bad apples doesn't spoil the entire barrel. Furthermore, I would never make a comment about pink penises being disgusting even if that's what I thought for one very important reason, I have a male child who is white. How do you think it would make him feel to know that his mother found any part of a white man disgusting? That's sends a message I would never want to convey to him. Any boy with half a brain would make that connection. That is absolutely no different than the stories I've heard here about BW who tell their children there are no good black men. The last thing I'm gonna do is teach my child self-hate, and any mother who does that should be ashamed of herself.

Furthermore, what Karma said was not a direct comment on anyone's father, brother, or son. Taking it as such is just being insanely sensitive to the point of stupidity. I've read several 'a BW brought you into this world' type comments on here directed at BM when stating that they prefer to date WW. Karma's simply turned that around and replied in kind. Twisting what he said to fit your own delusional thoughts and further your own agenda, does not make it true. Most people here are really bright, they aren't sheeple who will just fall in line and support any ole load of crap. That's typical troll mentality right there, and that's one thing people here have learned to deal with on a far too regular basis. I expect divisive bullshit from the trolls, but when it comes from regular posters who obviously just can't get past themselves and their own self-created issues, it's just sad. :smt011

If you have a personal problem with someone on this forum, be an adult and take it off the forum. By not doing that you just invite everyone in, and some of us would really prefer to not have to deal with other people's self-created baggage, we're content to stick them on ignore and move on. Just my .02 cents.

i just read your original post again and actually chi it was you that gave the troll the bite on pink penises...your very last line...so the troll grabbed it and then karma decided to grab on to it

look chi this is how i feel about it and then i am out of here because i don't like the tone of the thread...we have a thread that was started by an old poster friend of mine "respect where it's due" in that thread we celebrate BM and WW in history...i come to this forum because it is for BM & WW...i would much rather discuss the history of BM & WW than to go down the path of impolitely talking about WM or bashing BW...i don't care for the BW trolls that visit the board nor the WM trolls that come here to bust a nut...i think if you want to talk about the strife of WW and give BM some perspective on how it wasn't all that great being a WW 60,70,80 or 200 years ago then that is something that i can get on board with..if you want to pin point specific WM in history that held WW back then absolutely but WM as a whole...i can't be a part of that

It's very true that White Women have come an extraordinarily long way in a very short time. What I fear is that as a result we have completely forgotten our history. Most White Women I run into have no idea what their own mothers went through as young girls. We have this idea that Women used to be denied the right to vote and then in the 70's they invented feminism so Women could get paid more and have more sex. That's basically the modern pop culture version of the past several hundred years.

When you actually look at the history and learn about it, in my experience I find that there are of course parallels in certain segments of the history of oppression of Black Men and White Women. Rarely at the same time, and never to the same degree, but there are places where our stories are similar. Which makes it all the more valuable to WW in IR to learn our own history, because it brings us closer to an understanding of some parts of the history of the Men we fall in love with.

Chi, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the topic, nor do I see this as you bashing all WM. You very clearly stated that you know some WM that are really good men. Furthermore you mentioning pink penises is not the equivalent to rolling out the red carpet for all the trolls to trample on. Hell trolls don't need a reason.

Your posts are always insightful, well thought out, and very well put. You just keep being you, I for one enjoy you even when we're disagreeing, which is rare.

As I said, I'm sorry your thread got derailed, it happens around here, but if I don't address blatant BS when I see it, it's the equivalent to condoning it, and I'm just not even remotely comfortable with that. Again, I'm sorry it happened in your thread.

Something we can very much agree on. I think that's with any generation though. The black community loves to sensationalize the civil rights movement but rarely if ever hold up to the dreams they desperately fought for. In many ways we. are far worst than we were before. We care too much about the wrong shit. People in general that is.

I'm not directing this at you specifically, because you said you're leaving the thread. But I wanted to address this point because I think others may share it.

I think it's silly and overly PC to avoid discussing WM as a whole from an historic standpoint. The oppression of WW in the times we are discussing was not done simply by one or two asshole White guys. It was institutionalized, it was the societal standard. We're not just discussing one asshole who threw a Woman in an asylum to get rid of her, we're also talking about the doctors who okayed it and the police who assisted.

In studying the history of African American oppression, you cannot avoid discussing that it was committed by White people. Likewise, it is perfectly reasonable to discuss the oppression of White Women in America as being committed by White Men.

Arch stop it we are all smart enough to know when someone says that on here no one means every single person. I think we're past that. When we say British occupied the colonies everyone is aware that it wasn't every citizen of Great Britain.
