I still say a spank with a hand on a fully clothed bottom is different than a beating with a belt or something that could leave a bruise. I don't have mental problems and my son is a fine young man, despite getting spanked. And I have no residual trauma from having been spanked. I do, however, have issues with my mother that stem from verbal putdowns that have been far more damaging to me than a spanking ever was.
