I am not in South Africa, but I imagine the reason Jacob Zuma issued condolences to his[Terrablanche's] family was to prevent a civil war. He had to say something to put the white people at ease. Its only a token gesture though. Everyone knows he was a true racist, and South Africa will be a better place without him. I think for me the most telling thing about this whole situation was how the murderers handed themselves to the police after killing him. Its as if they were proud of what they did, and they wanted the whole nation to know. Its measure of how much they really hated him. I am suprised its taken so long for him to be killed, especially after beating up and disabling a security guard, and only serving three years. I do think that Julius Malema is a racist though, and is trying to start a civil war. Given enough power he could definately be the next Mugabe. Singing that anti-boer song at the news conference is only going to further polarize the nation, and lead to tit for tat killings.
