Agreed. The strongest economic engine in Africa and it's a social basket case. The parts of the continent with more sound societies are an economic shambles. I hope to see at least one country in Africa reach fully first world status in terms of socioeconomic development in my lifetime. Ghana, maybe? Maybe Nigeria if they could stop the theft of oil wealth.

I don't for a second doubt there are some in South Africa who feel I'm gonna get what those white folks have and if I have to kill them so be it aka a gangster mentality of violence.

When it comes to a first World African nation, so much politics involved that who knows.

The Japanese put their pedal to the metal and created one of the world's most industrialized societies, Chinese are doing the same now.

Don't know what Africa is waiting for as far as an influential, first world Afrcian nation that can sit on the Security Council of the UN for example, with no doubts about their credentials to do so.

60 Minutes interviewed Lesbians over there....the prevailing societal male remedy for lesbians
(other than gay-hate murder) is rape.

No "pray the gay away" remedy' like in the U.S..A rape will fix it. All she needs is a good stiff one.

Ghana? In your lifetime? I dont think so. Our first President Dr. Kwame Nkrumah was a visionary who had ideas 50 years ahead of his time and he was overthrown in a coup with the help of the CIA. The leaders in Africa are not visionary and have weakened structures and institutions which are supposed to put the politicians on their toes. Nigeria with the resources it has could be a first world country but once again its leadership dont have foresight hence the largest producer of oil in Africa cannot supply even 6 hours of uninterrupted power supply. The blacks in South Africa gained political power but the whites and a few elite blacks have the financial power and this is creating all the social unrest.

A crying shame that a country that has oil beneath its own soil has to suffer power shortages.

That says it all right there. Like you said whenever an African leader starts to not toe the line he mysteriously suffers a coup by his generals. Hmmm.

Can't be having those uppity negros thinking they can be all industrialized first world nations and such stuff. :D

As I often remind myself Africa is the richest continent resource wise on this planet and yet colonialism, exploitation, corruption and greed has left it behind where it should be development wise.

    basically

NAS often alluded to the fact that Africa was robbed blind

i mean damn, why do you think the French and British were so eager to put colonies there?

diamonds, oil...you name it, Africa probably has it
