Anybody ever see this movie as a kid? [youtube]47ak4vjiNzw[/youtube] Basically the movie is about an old man (Uncle Remus) telling a bunch of stories to little kids.These stories were based on African American folktale(brer rabbit,etc) originally collected by a white man interviewing Blacks in the south. There was controversy over this movie,so Disney pulled the movie from the shelves and now,dont sell it anymore. What do you think,is that clip racist?Id say that some of the aspects of the movie are definitely racially insensitive,but not necessarily racist.
They still sell it, just not in the US. You can buy bootleg copies or foreign copies online. (I only know because this topic came up on another board. I havent seen it since I was a child so I dont really remember enough of it to comment.
