Something ive noticed about Oprah

The question is why is she so obligated to do for black men? The same way you aren't obligated to black women it's her right to do what she wants with her resources. Whatever she does it'll never be enough from your perspective. I don't think she's trying to vindicate anything...just doing whatever she feels moved to do. I was simply responding to a quote about her making white men instant millionaires. Knowing how so many black men feel about not being able to use her, I can't say she should necessarily make you a high priority. There's a saying "if you educate a girl she'll uplift a society". This is happening all over the world.

 

She does things for people across the spectrum but men who absolutely despise her still expect special access they aren't willing to give. They also do not want a black woman serving as a positive example and garning any type of respect or power through hard work.

 

She doesn't hate black men, but they want her to uplift and profile them in ways they would never do if the shoe were on the other foot. This is why they do not dare target other black men to be in the "forefront" for them. They want women they do not even like to serve and come to the rescue.

Orca, oops, I meant Oprah is NOT obligated to anyone, and especially to us BM. But with her track record of not launching our talented brothas into the stratosphere in as many numbers as she's done for others, then she'd do best to stay that course, and never ever have anything critical to say about black men, OR ELSE!

I'm NOT saying she has said anything about us brothas, what I'm saying is, she'd better not start. Or else.

She will be railed if she begins a campaign of criticism against us, while yet not doing much to help us.

Well don't add this black man to the Oprah-bashers. I think she does good work. I used to hate on her too until I watched the show for awhile. When Montel was on, it seemed like all he had on there were troubled white women and their issues. And just maybe we black men should actually do something worth going on Oprah for, like write a non-ghetto book, make a non-ghetto movie, or make actual non-rap music.

PS: I hate when black folks want to spend other people's money. I grew up hearing that shit. "Cosby should do that, Jordan should do that." Leave Oprah alone.

Maybe...maybe not...i don't think she's that way...but it wouldn't shock me if she was. However, we as BM still need to do our thing...there are plenty of wealthy black men and we should help all of the young children (of every race) that we can. What's done in the dark...always comes to the light.
