:idea: I was watchingThe Fight last night on PBS and had forgotten about the fact that Joe Louis
use to party with some white lady celebs back in the day albeit on the VERY LOW-LOW because of the times! Also I knew that he had had an affair with Lena Horne
but I completely forgot about figure skater Sonja Henie
and didn't know anything about his affair with Lana Turner
at all:!:

OBVIOUSLY JOE LOUIS WAS A GREAT MAN AS WELL AS A GREAT AMERICAN WHO DROPPED BOMBS IN & OUT OF THE RING :!:

Oh, yeah. I remember reading about the hookups of Louis about a decade ago. The man had some major babes. I became interested in Sonja Henie BECAUSE of her affair with Louis. By the way, noble, that's the best picture I've ever seen of Henie. Good find.

:shock: Please explain that one because I was under the impression it was just an affair plus Joe already had been robbed by signing away 10% of his earnings 4 LIFE in order to fight for the heavyweight title :!:

 

Because of that he was indebted to the IRS and it took a act of congress to get him off the hook. Oh yes even Jesse Owens had affairs with WW as well. In the Sonja Henie biographies Joe Louis is never mentioned only her white lovers.

No one famous. In one of his biographies the author interviewed one of them. If he had it was secret. Oh yes even Duke Ellington. I would not be surprised since he was a ladies man.

 

Yeah I knew about Duke. Hell you could look at old photos of him & tell what time it was.

 

In case y'all didn't know, most black jazz singers and athletes in the old days were players. You name it, from Nat King Cole to Miles Davis, they were pimping. Especially when they went to Europe. Nat King Cole had several flings with European white women.

About athletes, they were even bigger macks. Jesse Owens, i think, was in Berlin for a long time and got his freak on with plenty German women. Obviously it got him into trouble a few times but he didn't care.

Same with Jack Johnson .......

 

Yeah LC thanks to the net, PBS, & this site in particular I've learned alot about the historical IR's of black male celebs & atheletes. Even PBS mentioned Nat King Cole's "main" IR affair with the lady from Petticoat Junction. Plus & of course, our bro Jack Johnson was just off da chain with his :!: :shock: :smt045

 

Gunilla Hutton was not only on Petticoat Junction but on Hee Haw too. I last saw her on the TV Land Awards some weeks back when the show honored Hee Haw.
