We all seem to agree that removing the legal barrier would increase the number of women participating, that would be a bad thing in my opinion. As far as movies and music that objectify and denigrate women, no thanks I don't support such so called "art". As far as sports, not sure I would agree that the main objective is to injure other players, that would be bad for business, I just don't want to see the public turn their back on the players once their career is done, what is happening to the NFL players union benefits for retired players is a disgrace for example.

Where would the right to "choose" end? Should we make all drugs legal for example? Legalizing activities like prostitution, drugs, and other socially frowned upon activities can and will lead to serious consequences to society as a whole, some I am sure we have not even thought of. Look at what is happening in the Netherlands, often times held up as the "model" for legalized prostitution.

I'll give you the short story.
Two of my cousins that were hookers got killed a few years back. You wouldn't believe just how many Eastern European girls end up in supposedly 'safe' brothels against their will.

Plus, I think sleeping with hookers gives men a very distorted idea of how to treat a woman and have a healthy relationship.

I think the main idea, be it personal or societical (sp?), when dealing with prostitution (and porn) legitimacy is for the majority to not be subjected to perversions of a minority. However, in my opinion the right of private property is key, and far more pivotal than a slut getting fucked in a dark alley at 3am in the morning. In other words, just dont ban anything that isnt hurting society as an entity as long as its done private. We should invest more on totally elmiminating out pedophilia, date rape, brutal rape, and other such things, where the "victim" is usually not consenting mentally,
