I certainly didn't appreciate Jill Scott's statements either. I said to myself that black women really need to get over it and stop bitching about something that is not going to change. But the comment you made about the white guy who shows his love for black women and white women don't bitch about it. I gave that some thought and wondered if our men were pursuing black women to the same degree black men pursue us, would we be so calm about it. True, we don't complain about their pursuit of asian women because asian women are more similar to us than black women are. What do you think? I see how humans interract daily and the people we usually want are the ones we find attractive first and interesting second. The fat balding guy at the movie might be interesting and funny but hot guy beats him in almost every situation. Why? Because we see people first and get to know them second.
The predictable "men are shallow" responses are just plain weak and hypocritical we're all visual creatures men are just more vocal.
And until I see not hear about differently I can pretend that its not true.
A world where we judge by someones character is beneficial for everyone but its far from realistic my friend.
