Dallas shooter was a decorated army reservist who served in Afghanistan: Micah Xavier Johnson. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/nat...nson-decorated-army-veteran-article-1.2704275
And here's another in georgia. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/cri...unfire-ga-apartment-complex-article-1.2704192 Let's not start crying for the cops tho. It's what they signed up for. Statistically, driving a cab is more dangerous.
"Terrifying moment brave cop's bullet bounces off armored vest of Dallas gunman who then shoots the officer in the back before executing him at point-blank range with assault rifle" Witness Ismael Dejesus said the maniac, who appeared to be carrying an AR-15 assault rifle, initially had no idea the cop was behind him. "A police officer crept up on the shooter and shot him in the back,' he told CNN. "But it didn’t faze him - he just turned around and shot him.' And he said that the brutal execution that followed saw the attacker firing multiple times. "The police officer was down and he shot him maybe another three or four times in the back,' he explained. And he added that the man had 'lots of 30-round magazines - so many that they were falling out of his pockets.'
Let's get this straight, in no way, shape, or form do I excuse murderous cops. Fear has always been a component of racisim against us. If anyone doesn't think that fear of the "violent black man" plays a big role in these killings they are kidding themselves. I have as much rage in my heart towards racist murderous cops as any black man in america. I want to end the violence and I want scumbag cops brought to justice. I fear however that escalating violence will only have the opposite effect.
Well it's not just cops being targeted now. White Tennesseans shot as well as a cop http://www.cbsnews.com/news/cops-tennessee-shooter-targeted-white-victims-similar-to-dallas-ambush/
Yeah...and l read her FB history is (was?) plastered with Micah's pics...she adored him, was very proud of him. He really has damaged so many lives at this point.
The pic itself is nice but it falls short. I want them two Cops to rat out the dirty Cops. Then we can light the cigar.
Agreed. Bet they don't even lose their jobs. Some type of cover-up will prevail. An eye for an eye I say. I feel so much for that poor four year old girl who witnessed her father get shot is fucked up on all levels along with the other unnecessarily taken victims. Even with video footage of the incidents the crooked cops will be protected.
I read that cops normally wear lots of riot gear and body armour, but not that day. Like l noted earlier, even cops were disturbed and called them out... I got a really deep message from Change.org in my inbox that l wanted to post...it was beautiful and healing..
Revive? Huh? Here- Dear ____ We’re left heartbroken yet again in the wake of deadly acts of violence against police and our fellow citizens. Our hearts go out to the loved ones of all those whose lives were taken. The senseless killings of five Dallas police officers happened during a peaceful protest of the tragic deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, black men whose lives were taken by police in Baton Rouge and the St. Paul area this week. The demonstrations in Dallas yesterday were purposefully organized to be a safe space for protest. Right before the shooting, the Dallas Police Department shared pictures of officers and protesters together in unity against violence. Officers intentionally didn’t wear riot gear. What was originally a place for community turned to horror. Together, we at Change.org reject the notion that violence is inevitable or must be tolerated. These are the times that can divide us, but we don’t have to take sides. If you believe in peace, understanding and justice, we are on the same side. We can make a choice to join one another in solidarity, and work together to build the world we want to live in. Right now. This week has undoubtedly been hard – I’m hurt, confused and angry. But I’m also hopeful that we can find some solace by sharing our stories, and in working together to make change. I invite you to express your feelings and perspectives. Share your stories and engage with other Change.org users by leaving a comment on this blog post. How did the news this week affect you? What actions do you think everyday people can take to address violence in our communities? What should we be working on together? We at Change.org stand in solidarity with those who stand against violence and hope we can work together to make our country a safer place for all. Sincerely, Justin Lyons Associate Campaigns Director Change.org
The harsh reality is that no worldly stance, instagram hashtags, Facebook posts, protests for peace and unity is going to put an end to racism or colour orientated killings. Can't wipe out mental health issues and can't remove the gun power. Look how far back this issue traces. It's a never-ending war just like the one in the Middle East. Some things will never cease. But they can try. Gotta give them that and respect that. Racists aren't going to raise their kids to feel any differently than themselves and the police recruitment system isn't going to keep behavioural monitors on their officers. It's nice to see influential figures are finally attempting to at least try to make an impact and change this unnecessary bullshit.
I don't know who the influential figures you speak of who are finally attempting to make an impact, are. I do however know of PAST influential figures such as King and Parks who made enourmous strides in their activism. Can you enlighen?
Snoop Dogg , The Game and Russell Simmons are a few who are at least attempting to come up with a resolution alongside the authorities and trying to get other people on board to put an end to the racial war.
