One of the things I do in my corporate life is to develop and design interactive multimedia training and informational programs and one of the things I've been needing/looking for is a basic 3D tool [other than CAD] for 3D modeling. Today I was on one of the other forums I belong to and one of the members posted SKECTH UP from Google. It's a free 3D design app you can download off of the Internet.
If you like graphics or design on any level check this out.

This brings up a question I have for the members here: Should we just talk about interracial things or should we talk about anything under the sun?

I think we could strengthen our on-line community by opening up the threads a little bit to other topics as well. We have a diverse group here and I think we all have some stuff to offer...
    What do you guys think?

    Hey Bro,

You and I are one of the same :D
I am a jack of all trades, but master of none. I started out as just a plain graphic designer, but later branched off into web design, flash/swish design (and animations), as well as 3D design and animating.

I just got a new position where I am developing and designing interactive
websites, flash movies, 3D designs, as well as other things. If you are doing ANYTHING in 3D, then you want to go with 3d studio max, Maya, or Cinema 4D. These three programs are currently the top industry standard when doing anything in 3D (and they also look really good on a resume 8) ). If you are familiar with file sharing and bittorrent programs, you can easily get these programs online.

    Thanks nilan. 8)
I have a budget that I have to stay within and needless to say I have to maximize the things I can do with the little money they “give”me. A large part of my “creative” budget has gone to Adobe/Macromedia, Sony and Windows. Also I can not use anything that does not have a legal license because our legal department is leery of law suits and our IT department will never allow anything without a legal license or that has not gone through QA compliance testing to sit on our servers. Peer to Peer is a big no-no in my corporate world. They are very funny about that kind of stuff where I work. Like you'll get fired kind of funny, if you break protocol.

I was just tossing that out there because it's a great free app for anyone interested in design.

But what do you think about us maybe having a section where the members here can post about anything and not just interracial subjects?
Do you think that would degrade this site or would it make it stronger?

Let me know what you think. All of you. Cool?

I think we already post about everything not just interracial subjects (sections such as Religion, Politics, Movies, etc etc) plus the threads are hi-jacked anyway, plus people already made threads regarding their personal problems, dilemmas or prefferences whether IR related or not, plus lately there's a trend in getting to know the individuals who post here and their likes and dislikes including in a potential partner (its getting to the point where its information that has relevance in the personals section), plus anyone posts anything they find to be fun or adding a little fun to the overall IR conversation whether IR related or not anyway, so I think even though I would enjoy a "Fun corner" where people would post jokes as a cultural exchange and sample of different types of humour (specific sense of humour, if there is such a thing) in the black community and white community (including jokes making fun of whites and jokes making fun of blacks), and even though such things are indeed fun and interesting up to a certain extent, in the BIG lines I think there's enough of it as we speak, plus we have to remember that the main purpose of the FORUM section are conversations with relevance to IR not the individuals who preffer or date IR. While I don't disapprove or dislike it, depending if the topic interests me or not, I think the train should stay on its track ..........mainly.

I think most of the boards, no matter what theme you have that pulls you together, have conversations going on about other things as well..

Lets face it, just because we date IR, doesn't mean that is the ONLY thing we think or talk about. We have other interests too..

As far as the graphics.. Designer you have the job I want! Damn I miss a more creative job!

LOL, there's no need to fear designer, what harm can come out of CG? I'm being vague on purpose because I don't want to put any information about myself out in public, just my opinion on dating WW. The point I wanted to make however, was that I have a career and I'm really into computer graphics. That much I will say ;-) .

Designer ... I like your thinking about mixing it up a little ... that's why I try to start new threads when I see the topics kind of fading away .... Throw something out there and we'll be all over it ....
