I've been waiting a reeaalllly long time to see this movie, and today i finally saw it. I must admit.... i was NOT disappointed. Here's the plot (i copied it from the back of the DVD case...): This movie is based on the best-selling horror action game. It stars Radha Mitchell (who i think is soooo hot by the way) as Rose, a desperate mother who takes her adopted daughter, Sharon, to the town of Silent Hill in an attempt to cure her of her ailment. After a violent car crash, Sharon disappears and Rose begins her desperate search to get her back. She descends into a fog of smoldering ash and into the center of the twisted reality of a town's terrible secret. Pursued by grotesquely deformed creatures and a townspeople stuck in permanent purgatory, Rose begins to uncover the truth behind the apocalyptic disaster that burned the town 30 years back. This is a MUST SEE for any fans of the game genre, but it's also good for casual movie watchers (although it will make you put all of the pieces together in order to truly understand it). In my opinion, this movie is definitely worth the rental fee. :smt004 Here are some pics of Radha, and a few pics of the movie below that.:
Haven't seen this yet. But I know the game is eerie as hell. Especially on a big screen tv with a good sound system.
I am a huge fan of the videogame series and I loved this movie dude!!! captures the same errieness. this movie has some of the same cinematography and music as the game! bryant, the woman that played cybill was also very kewl/hot as well!!!!!!!! also you should have seen this movie in the theatre on the big screen man!
I got that movie on dvd didn't see it yet, but listening to ya'll review it sounds like somethin I just might watch it in a hurry.
Tell me about it Shaft. Me and my best friend rented the original Silent Hill game when it first came out, and we couldn't even finish it! I mean, we were pretty young then (not that young actually) but that game was just plain CREEPY. All of the creatures sliding across the ground, the fog that you can barely see through, the dark buildings, monsters doing weird movements, etc... :smt096 What made it even more creepy was the fact that you start out the game with a flash light and a pole, and that's it. You have to fight off THOSE creatures with a FLASH LIGHTand POLE....are you kidding me!! We both vowed never to play that game again, but after seeing the movie, i'm thinking about actually revisiting the game and catching up on all of the storylines that i've missed (because it's been 3 or 4 sequels since then you know).
Hey Taye, i can only imagine how great seeing this movie would have been on the big screen. Dang it! Why didn't i see it then :smt102 Oh well... But yeah, i looooooove Radha Mitchell, and also Elizabeth Rohm from law and order :smt007 ( i don't know what it is about the really short, blonde hair) but cybill was really hot too. I wish i could discuss parts of the movie, but i'll just wait until Shaft and Kenny G get around to watching it first. Let's just hope that they like it as much as we did. :smt003
I'm not going to give away any spoilers but after re-watching the film last night. This movie is much more brutal than I thought too
