    I need convincing, too, lol!
I don’t have a super fixed idea what the process has to look like, I just know I’m not going all the way on my own. We have to meet in the middle at some point. When I met my husband it was a long ass process from getting to know to ending up as a couple. In fact, if you ask me know I can’t even remember how it happened lol. We were friends and it sort of just happened organically, no classic first-dates etc
And btw, there was no classic proposal either, we just came to a mutual understanding that we’d get married. So I’m not as hung up on the rules as you might think:).

I am not interested in marriage, so our feelings on the matter would naturally differ.

It's 2020 and every female online is a super woman who can run marathons, do indoor rock-climbing and CrossFit, lift a car over their heads and foil bank robberies, so they can approach me if they want a date.

Of course women should ask men out. Makes it easier for us men to know you’re interested

I was about to comment in this thread, then I realized that everything that I was going to say has already been said.

Reviving an old thread but I honestly appreciate the straightforwardness and courage it takes when a woman asks out a man directly or indirectly. Some (myself included) guys aren’t the best a picking up on hints if it’s not obvious and at times I had no idea a woman even knew who I was let alone interested until WAY later. I can only speak for me but in the few times it’s happened, while admittedly shocked, I was very receptive and one ended up being a GF. In that instance her mutual friends invited me to go with them for lunch to which I agreed. I think nothing of sitting by her as she was new (happened in HS) until the drive back when out of nowhere she lays her head on my shoulder. I’m all sorts of confused (rumor was she didn’t like guys) but saw our friends giggling in the front seat. While she didn’t directly ask me out it was a pretty BIG hint :p! We ended up together for a year and a half one of the best relationships I’ve had. Yet I didn’t even know she knew who I was lol. Most guys imo will more than likely, unless just not feeling the woman at all, be receptive and touched by the gesture. At least I am.

For an autistic guy like me who is below average at picking up hints in general, I do appreciate when a woman is direct at asking a guy out.
