Should NAACP have rappers accept the image awards

to your first point, i didn't say they were, but i wasn't talking about them....i was speaking about the two-faced ppl who use their skin color to get positions.

 

they are all uncle toms in one way or another: the rappers and atheletes promote the image of the ghetto uneducated black and the oprahs of the world show the happy negro that can be successful if they take the image and mannerisms of whites. it's all a spit in the face of black culture and history.

 

Well since you seem to have the revelation on this...tell me how should blacks be represented when they have achieved any measure of greatness, seeing that you believe they shouldn't be on Oprah or be atheletes?

Another question...what is the image and mannerisms of whites in terms of successful blacks???

 

i didn't say all atheletes, i was referring to the inarticulate ones like lebron,carmelo,and dwight howards of the world who didn't finish college and are seen as role models. you ask how they should be represented? that is my issue.....why should they be represented? you should represented by yourself.....the only ppl who will do it for them is the corporate media whichs frowns on outspoken blacks and celebrates buffoons....hence no chuck d, yes to flavor flav. oprah loves to kiss up to whites and say how she is related to elvis, knowing damn well, that anytime a black is related to to whites it is through slavery. again the issue is knowing your history and being proud of it, instead of being these insecure fools who have no identity so they are swayed by a white dominated pop culture.


blacks don't have to embrace the so called mainstream, brarely will you see a black face. they need to look at their community and its history to find ambition and purpose.

 

not really...when you grew up under a system of white supremacy in either situation.....he was keenly aware of the mentality of whites at that time, he understood it better than most black americans because he traveled....malcolm's philosophy was based on garveyism, so in action he supported marcus. mlk wouldn't support it because he followed the path of garvey's nemesis, web dubois. both mlk and dubois recieved funding from whites, to the point where whites ran their organizations. mlk's philosophy was to negotiate with white power to get a place, marcus was about blacks making their own place. again it's the age old, field negro vs house negro.

 

Excuse me but James and Carmelo are not inarticulate. Moreover, they are embracing life as it is in America...not white people per se. If you feel this way about blacks in relation to white people why are you even here at this type of forum where blacks seek whites? It's very evident that you have some inner issues sweetie.

 

you must have a low standard for communication skills if you think those two are great speakers. i have nothing against white ppl or black ppl, if read my posts, you would understand i am making a specific point. but i guess the theme for today is you jumping to conclusions, and me calming you down before you shit your panties........
