The media is all over the issue of brain trauma in football and they are trying to make the case that football should be banned. Do you agree? They are hoping that parents will pull their sons from the sport rather than wait for change at the top. Never thought I would live to see the day that football is looking more like an endangered species. Masculine sports are under the gun.

Parents? You mean NPR-helicopter mothers. Will do anything to nuzzle male testosterone. No father would advocate pulling his boy from football. What are young males supposed to do with their natural aggressive-play desires? Why don't these whiners just make badminton and ballet compulsory for all boys and complete the puzzie-raising already.

Hell No is should not be banned the game has been played in this country for 120 years by countless millions of people and we are now saying the game is too dangerous.

I played football, my dad played, my little cousins play, and in the future if and when I have sons and they want to play I would let them. People are going to get get hurt doing everyday things like driving cars and bikes but I dont see any outcry to ban things like that. Hell I know more than a few people that have sustained concussion playing "non contact" sports like baseball and soccer and they were sever concussions. Ironically the worst injury I ever sustained on the field of play was on the baseball diamond not the football feild.

If you want to limit the amount of time that the youth kids can practice in pads and do actual hitting I am fine with that. You already have weight limits to make sure the kids are as even as possible. The media and the like are just jumping on this because it is the hot button topic of the day. Its kinda like a few years ago I remember them jumping on baseball and pitch counts for kids. Some kids had tommy john surgery and all of a sudden there were is baseball too dangerous for our kids stories popping up.

Also might I add in a country where inactivity and obesity are skyrocketing is banning something where actually have to get up and run around and learn from an early age how to eat right and take care of their bodies something we should be doing.

I really dont think though you have to worry remember what drives things like this are money and the fact is that there is too much money in football from the pro level on down. Lots of powerful people not just the owners, we are taking politician business leaders, universities etc have a vested interest in the viability of football.
