SQUEEE!!!!!!!! During critique last night... "Ya know, I really like this. It's pretty awesome". Is an almost sorta quote from the teacher. OMG! It made me so happy. I didn't think he'd ever like any of my stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Still got a few things to fix to get an A, but for him to like it so much to begin with...hellllll yes. That means the A won't be too difficult. Mostly it lies in the design on the bowl thing...gotta make it look better, and just like the original picture this was based on (google image search Fede Galiza to find it) and I'll have an A! So, I might be able to go from nearly failing the class last quarter and having to drop it, to securing a B or maybe even an A this quarter!!!!!!!! I want that fucking A! I can do this!!!!!!! lol I have never had an A in a 3d class yet, but I think I can do it this time and I'm gonna try!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ahem. Ok.... Kg - awwww. I will have to refresh my memory on what some of those in your list are, but I know for a fact I still have both Quatro and You Tear Me Apart sitting in my room. The former is on illustration board, and the latter is on canvas panel, and they're just gathering dust in my closet, I think. lol A Kiss was sold last summer, though I'd like to do something like it again...it was a cool concept with the textures and stuff. My mom has always been lovely Thanks! She looks a bit different now, because she doesn't wear make up or cut her hair anymore (You should know about those types of baptists in the area!) and she's gotten a few years older, but I treasure the shots I got of her that day. It was so fun and sporadic, and she was a great model. I think, had life went differently for her, she could've definitely made it as a model, except for her height. She's 5'2. lol Brittylove - yeah, you have to have an account on dA to favorite things and request or buy prints. But it's ok, like I said, the only way I'll both with that option is if you want to buy a cheap print due to money issues *nodnodnodnod* hires - high resolution image. Basically a very, very large file size vs the sizes of images I have on my gallery already. Clearer, bigger, and likely more dense (higher dpi and whatnot). Basically, not a photo, like most of my stuff on there, but an actual scan...I generally use photos of stuff because I have a camera I borrow from a friend....all the scanners are at school and I don't feel like dragging all my stuff in for scans. Photos just aren't the best quality though...i use Photoshop to make them look better, but I don't think the colour quality ever fully shows through in photos of my pieces. The one everyone loves so much, PhoenixFall, honestly looks ten times better in person, in my opinion, cause the colours are more vibrant and lively. Argh, every time I wanna sit down and check out stuff on the board I got homework to do. So annoying! *scuttles off to work on more homework*
Woooohooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm happy for you that your teacher had that to say about it and I hope you will get an A!!!!!!!!!! :smt038:smt026 Okay then, I will try to make an account there, I'm not going to have a gallery though, so I hope that'd be okay. Thanks for explaining hires images. I wish I could see PhoenixFall in person. But one thing I think I've noticed about my computer is that it's bright with colors and stuff. It's a pretty new computer, like the model or whatever. I've noticed it by using other computers before and thought, "Eww, the colors on this computer are dark and dull! I want back on my computer." And it's the same if I print something off my computer the colors will be less bright than they were on the screen. But I don't know, maybe it's just other people's computers or the printer ink in my printer. Good luck with your homework! I'm off to deviantart.com
Colours on screens are always off unless the screen colours are calibrated to industry standards, and since the average computer user doesn't know anything about said standards, it's hard to get things looking right on multiple machines. There are also different colour settings...you've got your typical RGB (red, green, blue) that most things seem to go by in files online, and there's CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black), which is suitable with printing. If you try to print an RGB image the colours will always be off, because printers work with the CMYK range. It annoys me, because I think that my monitor's colours are off (this computer is getting old and has a lot of bugs), but I'm not quite sure how to change them. I need to look at my manual. lol But yeah...computers suck sometimes, because if you make a gorgeous piece of digital art on a computer where the monitor colours are off just slightly it can ruin the artwork, because even though it looks great to you, on other monitors that are actually set correctly it will be off. That's why I try to double check my homework at school to make sure the colours don't need adjusting, since the school computers are mostly up to industry standards in all aspects. We kinda need them to be. ...It kinda weirds me out when I realize I know this crap. lol I remember when the teachers first started explaining it two years ago I was so overwhelmed. I was like "oh god, I'll never remember this shit!" and now sometimes I almost sound like a professional. It's cool. haha.
You know DH... things are pretty tough for you right now. I know, Ive been there.. It sucks sometimes, it really does. But I KNOW, in my hearts of hearts, that you, my dear DH - WILL be able to buy your mother that house. It might not be tomorrow or the next few years.. But keep your eyes on that price! You will be rewarded, you are awesomely talented and dont you believe anything else.... You have IT! I do believe in you and your talent, but dont forget to pay back - whatever little you can, do... and I know you do... keep steady, you WILL be rewarded. Goddayyummm you rock!
Well, I made an account but I haven't received the confirmation e-mail and it's making me mad, heh. I do keep hitting the Submit button thingy it tells you to click on (if you didn't get a confirmation e-mail) after you check that your e-mail address is correct, if you don't get your confirmation e-mail. I clicked it a couple few times. I guess I just have to be patient. I love my monitor colors/the way it shows colors. DH the professional! I usually figure things out by accident on here as far as colors of the desktop background, colors of your windows, colors of your e-mail stuffs, adjusting the resolution thingy. Then I get to act like I did it on purpose and I'm just so smart.
DH: I posted this site before, but incase you didn't see this page, I wanted to show you: http://www.save-on-crafts.com/artsupplies.html I don't know how much help it will be, but I hope it does something for you.
TS - I just saw your comment. Thanks so much babe A character I'm working on for class tomorrow night She is so cuuuute!!!!!! I <3 her.
lippy had a kitty named pixie...very cute name...i also think "jinx" would be a cute character name...
she is so cute! i see she is tearing up the house...will she be climbing the curtains? or my favorite is when one of my cats unrolls a whole roll of toliet paper in the bathroom and then plays in it...as if they don't have any toys...
If I have time before the end of the quarter I'm going to throw in some dirty paw prints everywhere and a few broken items. haha. I thought it would be funny to have her destroying the living room as her environment, since that was the requirement for the assignment: a simple character in a simple environment. The teacher just wanted it to look professional. The one I turned in wasn't as good, but since he allows us to resubmit our projects this one should be an A now. I was working on it in class after the critique and I kept getting his opinion until he finally said "I love it". Which means a) it should be an A level now, and B) my shit looks professional!!!!! That's the most exciting part of it for me. hrmmm...I should throw in an empty toilet paper roll. It would be extremely simple to model...but would look best if there were toilet paper in the room, too. Not sure how easy that part would be, though. I heart my kitty.
thanks so much, doll. I wish I could make the big bucks now, though. I'm not advanced enough to get a steady animation job, especially considering my animations are still very, very rough. My modeling in 3d has gotten much much better, though. I need to get my portfolio looking nice and I might be able to get a few freelance jobs, but it's difficult if you're still a student unless you're -very- good. -_- I'm so happy with my progress, though. My 3d work has grown greatly in just a few short months. it's exciting. Makes me feel like someday I could totally make a movie as awesome as what Pixar and Blue Sky crank out.
I shall never let the art thread die!!!!!! Made this is 3dMax today. I'm such a nerd, it's fall break for the rest of the week and I'm sitting here working to get ahead at school when the Winter quarter starts.
Amazing work dh...from the lights on the stairs to the pics of your man & you on the walls...brilliant...!!! :smt038
