Slightly off topic, but I still haven't forgiven Michael Jordan for drafting Kwame Brown over Shane Battier (nevermind Tyson Chandler, Pau Gasol, Eddy Curry and Jason Richardson) when he was president of The Bullets. Many of the older players (retired or otherwise), commentators, sports journalists and NBA executives whine about players not going to college yet when a player of Battier's caliber is available in the draft, he gets selected behind a player who never even smelled real competition in his high school gym. In Battier, you have a player that came from a program with a winning tradition, lead the program to a national championship and stayed all 4 years but was penalized because he didn't have the so called "upside" and the physique of Kwame.

    Rant done

He didn't have the upside and still doesn't...

    Can't get his own shot!

That's a sign he peaked in college.

He came out a much more polished "team" player however, but was never going to be a dominate player.

If he plays his cards right, he's only a few seasons away from 10 years in the league and he'll get his NBA pension.

Congrats to his wifey and his new child!

MJ paid the price for that choice too. His time with the Wizards was a learning process for him as an NBA exec, but not really successful by any other measure.

Forget Battier. Jordan should have chosen Paul Gasol, Joe Johnson or Richard Jefferson. Battier hasn't been a bust but he also did not become the star that the Dick Viatales of the world and every Duke ass-kisser predicted he would be. He's a nice player who plays very good defense and is surely a quality individual. But would you take him now over Gasol?

How about....who cares that he's biracial? If the only way some of you can fulfill a fantasy or place a checkmark on the scorecard is if the black guy is 100% Zulu African then that's your own damn issue. Please stop bringing it up.
