An abusive couple who had sex in an aeroplane toilet and then forced their flight to be diverted at a cost of more than £12,000 have been sentenced.

Trevor Blake, 44, and Nicola Fitzgerald, 27, had to be restrained on board British Airways flight 2263 en route from Gatwick to Kingston, Jamaica.

A judge said their actions had caused fear among other passengers, including mothers and their children.

Well there are regulations about there only being one person in airline restrooms.
I don't understand why they had to divert to a different location unless the sex happy couple made threats to passengers or flight crew.

It is a different world after 9/11 however there needs to be some measure of common sense in play.
The whole thing seems blown out of proportion to me.

Although I'm sure this will be used as some type of anti IR example.

As I understand it, them having sex had nothing to do with the actual incident (they were drunk and agressive against the service personnel) and was probably thrown in as a little salacious detail to make the story more interesting (afterall, gossip papers don't want to disappoint their readers by writing an article about BM and WW without mentioning sex! :roll: )
