Obama 2; Clinton 2. Obama, however, has more delegates. Accumulating enough delegates is what it takes to win the nomination. http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Vote2008/story?id=4195240&page=1 The Kid Rasta 8)
Oh yes, he'll win some. Just not as much. Even though it'd backfire eventually, this is a big win for Hillary. Dick Morris said it best when he pointed out that an Obama win will hurt him in the industrial and midwestern states such as California, New York, Texas, Florida, Wisconsin, Indiana etc. You don't need a U.S Census Bureau to know that the black electorate there isn't exactly bulky. Many whites will be baited by Clintons by essentially painting him as "the black candidate" whose base consists of blacks and "guilty" white liberals. Y'all Clinton stans can deny it all you want but it's the truth. Of course, i hope i am wrong but it is my estimation that this will be exactly the case. Eventually though, when Hillary gets the nomination, many blacks will not feel compelled to participate in the process anymore and might stay home like they did in 2000 and 2004. And you best believe that the hardcore conservatives will come out in droves regardless of who their nominee is as long as Hillary gets the nomination. With the two possible combinations, get ready for another four years of GOP domination in the white house. And that spells trouble for America with the critical issues facing us - a weak economy, environment, Supreme Court etc.
I've been having the same thoughts. Barack's aim is to win the Presidency while Hilary is being short-sighted and is only focusing on the Democratic nomination. Republicans won't be overly motivated to vote against Obama....but he will energize moderates/Independents/hardcore Democrats. Hilary by comparison will stir up apathetic conservatives and they will swarm the election booth in November if she is the Dems challenger....they'll do anything to keep another Clinton out of the White House. She is going to rely heavily on white women, Latinos and Jews...but even if many of them vote her way....she will still need the black vote to secure a win. Billy Bob's playing of the race card has made the prospects of getting the black vote...grim. Their strategy will help win the nomination...but without the black vote in the general election...she is doomed. The Republicans talk about her as if she is the inevitable Democratic challenger because they are trying to psyche voters out. They WANT her to win....the last thing they want to see is Obama or Edwards waiting for them....or (OMG) an Obama/Edwards ticket....
I disagree totally. Barack Obama had to win SC to stay in the game. By him winning there, and in Iowa previously, it proves that he has across-the-board appeal (read: Blacks & whites). The Latinos have been slow to get behind Obama, however. But, they will get wit the (Obama) program or they will lose out. Cause if McCain wins the Republican nomination, and he defeats Hillary (assuming she wins the Democratic presidential nomination), he will mos def kick out the 12 million or so illegals in the US. Hillary winning the nomination will be a disaster for the Dems come Nov. The Kid Rasta 8)
