If Seal and Heidi Klum's children ever ask about how their parents fell in love, the couple may have to make something up.

"I met him in a hotel lobby in New York City and he came in just from the gym and I was sitting there and I was, like, wow," Klum tells Oprah Winfrey on her show's Superstar Couples episode set to air Thursday.

Wow, as in Seal was wearing bicycle shorts.

"And I pretty much saw everything," says Klum. "The whole package."

From that moment on, the passion never died. The couple, in a rare joint television interview, say on The Oprah Winfrey Show that they've worked to keep those early feelings alive.

"The most common hiccup," says Seal, is when the first child comes along. "And it turns into all about the kids, which is understandable because they're miraculous. But then you've got to put each other first. You know, she will always be number one for me."

"Is it true?" asks Winfrey.

"I have the most romantic husband," says Klum. "I do."

 

I wonder how the BW in the audience reacted to Heidi's comments about Seal's "package"???

I think you would see more of a reaction from white men from that comment, than from black women. BW might laugh it off, but WM could actually see that as a diss and would probably roll their eyes.

If Ms Klum saw a "Non-Famous" black man wearing bike shorts working out in the gym would she acted the same way?

She knew what she was doing, she wanted Seal and she got him!!!

 

How many "non-famous" white men do these supermodels type typically date or marry? Probably not that many. And the ones who date non-famous white men will probably only go after very successful and/or wealthy non-famous white men. Usually its a class thing. As sad or pathetic as this may sound if there was a lot more successful non-famous black men around you can sure bet plenty more of top-shelf white females (and even those that are celebrities) would hook up with them.

In this country white people (males and females) can typically pick and choose from the best crop of available potential "minority" mates. Not saying that most of those so-called upper tier minorities will necessarily want to always hoop up with white people, but a whole lot of them nonetheless do. Perhaps a Heid Klum wouldn't hook up witk some very good-looking black lawyer who is barely making above six figures. Maybe that says something bad about her. But considering how much dough she rakes in and how famous she is (sometimes it takes another famous person in a relationship to understand the demands of fame) I couldn't really blame her. And if a bus driver strolled in with the looks of Boris Kodjoe he would still have no chance with a woman like that (outside of some steamy affair, one-night stand or something). A supermodel ain't dating/marrying a bus driver. Period.

By the way not only did Heidi know what she was doing, Seal knew damn well what he was doing too. He wore that outfit to show off his "assets" in the same way a woman with a great rack would wear a low cut top to draw the attention of men. Seal knew that he could attarct certain women by displaying his package and once again (because the guy has scored big time over the years) he got what he was looking for.

And here's a bit of controversy from my part....I think Seal has an advantage that the vast majority of African American men don't have when it comes to being able to woo supermodels like Heidi. And this advantage has nothing to do with his physical build. Seal wasn't born in this country and doesn't have the hangups that black males do regarding going after the best of the best white women.

Through a combination of the (white and black) media, the history of violence often directed at black men in America who were or were accused at having an attraction towards white women, the upbringing in homes (especially by black women) in which black boys are warned and basically preached about the "evils" of going after white girls----which is reenforced overall by people in the black community, the at times overly macho facade that many black men must adapt to survive that is ultimately revealed as being empty and false since so many of them didn't have father figures and therefore don't always know what being a true man entails, and the rejection of education (in terms of being knowledgable, studious and well spoken) by far too mnay in black America.

The result of these characteristics, IMO, tend to produce a bunch of brothers lacking in certain qualities (such as sophistication) that successful women (of all races) are typically attracted to. I say typically because there are always exceptions. But for the most part women like Heidi aren't likley drawn to dudes who emmulate DMX in terms of how they act. They aren't drawn to athletes like Terrel Owens either who act immature. But Seal doesn't seem to have those hangups and he is smart and intelligent. And he shoots for the moon because he likely won't settle for less (as far too many black guys who are attracted to white women do by going after and settling for only the white women that white men reject). There was a VH1 special about the top gorgeous models and their love lives. One of the commentators/talking heads, a white guy, commented on Seal and Heidi and gave Seal his props. But there was an incredulous tone in his voice and it is not too far fetch to suggest he felt a bit of pain at seeing this white female idol become the lover of a black man.

Seal has pulled this trick of numerous times. The only other famous modern black male celebrities that I know of who have pulled off comparable coups are Derek Jeter and Lenny Kravitz. And in those cases both Jeter and Kravitz are more famous and more succesful at their fields, they bot are mixed and they are both considered to be ridicuously handsome. Jeter had the advantage of also being in the New York spotlight and being not easily racially identifiable. And Kravitz has the advantage of selling a lot more albums than Seal.

Despite this the non-American Seal, who is not considered by many to be a very good-looking dude, gets his pick of the litter. And if people want to suggest its all about being a musician because even ugly rock stars get the girls let me point out that even a fairly good-looking rapper like 50 Cent who is rich as hell and very well known seems incapable (or too chicken shit) to go after a SI swimsuit beauty (regardless if if she's black, white, latina, etc). He is likely to hook up with some C-list white actress or some black female "video ho" who, as fine as they may look, are not considered to be he most desirable socially speaking.

 

Perhaps many if not most black men don't "measure" up to Seal either. Could it then be seen as a diss to most men in general? Or are you folks making more out of it than necessary?

 

I caught that episode and you should of seen her act out her reaction when she saw him in hsi biker shorts :lol: :lol: She looked like she was hypnotized, Im tellin you she always had a thing for black men. I think she loves the whole interracial thing like we do, because if you notice she has the brightest smile on her face whenever she refers to her family in being so diverse.

 

Also they didn't mention the biological father of leni in this sitdown, I thought you know since it is "OPRAH" who is known to ask those kind of questions that it would of came up, but it didn't, seal & heidi refered leni as theirs......She must really don't like the biologicla father of leni I have only heard her once speak of his name saying that he is not in the picture and being around that my whole life, it has alot to do with deadbeat dad and dislike for a mother to not want her daughter to even know who he is, and damn whipe him out of the picture when speaking about leni, and no one never asking about it, I think that is a topic for heidi that is always going to be off limits.

So that could of been a white, asian, fat, or handicap guy sitting there wearing bike shorts. The way she tells it Seal happen to be in the right place at the right time, of course it must of been an exclusive gym with expensive membership fees.

Famous people tend to attract each other just as money is attracted by money.

You are absolutely right about most BM not measuring up to Seal, however it is a fact that BM are stereotyped as having bigger packages than other races. Counter in the fact that a WW (Heidi Klum) is commenting on a BM (Seal) package, that sterotype will more than likely pop into the minds of the audience members, be they male or female. But I guarantee that the WM audience members would see it as more of a diss before BW would.

 

And because of women like Heidi Klum falling for black men like Seal that you will have movies and tv shows with hot models type falling for nerdish guys.

Example: Shows like "Chuck" and "Big Bang Theory" where the hot woman prefers the unmuscular brainy white guy over black men.

 

Yeah it seems the only trend that don't catch on that much anywhere ESPECIALLY IN THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY! is when it involves intimate relationships between black men & white women. But that is just more proof that bm, ww interracial pairings still has alot of haters, their just not vocal to avoid being outed as racist.

But weirdly interracial pairings trend in porn caught on which could be seen as to why in many ways.

 

It's said, "If you want to see the end result of interracial pairings look at porn" unfortunately, both tv, movies and porn lack the passion that comes from relationships between black men and white women.

Yeah I think he did something other than be an deadbeat dad, because she act as if he don't exist :lol: in her and leni's lives.
And it must of been that way from the start, because when seal said he knew that he loved heidi it was when it hit him he is going to be a father and this was when she pregnant with leni. That is deep, not to be nosey with it but I would like to see somebody bring his name up just to see her reaction.
