OK, spill it. What are you studying or have already completed in the realm of education?

If you're not doing anything academically, what would you like to study?

And, perhaps most importantly, what do you want to be when you grow up?

I wanna make movies or video games when I grow up.

Our school system is totally different over here but I left school after doing my highers, I only did 3 because I had my lil boy when I was 16 :smt087. But I stayed on and completed my exams and finished school with credit standard grades in German, Biology, Modern Studies, English, Maths and highers in English, Modern Studies (sociology, politics and international relations) and Human Biology. If you don't know that's pretty decent grades. Credit grades are the highest you can get in a subject, and I got them after 4 years at high school and highers are 5 years there. So it;s standard grades < highers < advanced highers.

I'm now 18 and in college studying an HND in Public Relations and Advertising which once completed after 2 years gives me advanced entry into either Media Studies or Corporate Communication at RGU 3rd year. So I'll then spend 2 years there and that's me with an honours degree if everything goes to plan. I love college, it's only 3 days a week so I get to be a mummy and study for the future. I hope everything goes to plan.

Doing general ed in college right now. Don't know what I want to do. My GPA is fucked now, since I got an F in math last semester so that just fucked my chances of doing anything good. Oh well, I don't feel like doing the 4 year thing anyway. AA is good enough for me.

You're going to have to explain some of these acronyms like HND and RGU, but it looks like you're on a very good road. What's even more impressive is that you're a single mother. I applaud you.

    Me:

I have a bachelors in political science and philosophy and masters in political theory. Ultimately I want to teach and write political theory at a university level.

    - EDIT

Nevermind: Higher National Degree and Robert Gordon University.

I don't know if I can. I fucked up in my algebra class and switched to this learning center class, and the learning center class is what I failed. The only way I could get into the class I failed in would be to mess up in my regular algebra class. And I go to ARC.

i never understand how ppl can fail to "get" maths. Its quiet easy..

My lowest grades were usually in english back in high school (high 60s low 70's)). And got 100% throughtout in maths/physics/calc etc. Sometimes got 100% +10% on bonus questions.....lol..

    ;)

    Yep, same family of schools.

http://www.artinstitutes.edu/houston/ This one is mine. I guess the culinary program is alright, though honestly I don't see the point in getting a culinary degree unless you want to be a famous chef with your own chain of restaurants or a really swanky one in nyc or something, because otherwise all you can really do with the degree is manage a restaurant...and that can be achieved by just working there without a degree after a while. It might make things quicker, though. I dunno. I don't know much about the culinary part because it's more of a seperate school housed within my building. It's the 4th floor, and I've never been there. I spend most of my time on the computer lab floor. 3 of my 4 classes are in computer labs.

    One suggestion.......STUDY....

being an A student is having a pen and paper in your head everywhere you go so you can study even when youre not "studying"....

Maths is so easy, you just have to visualize the numbers, stay disciplined and PRACTICE (alot)

What's easy for you isn't always easy for everyone. It's really strange for me to comprehend how anyone can do so horribly in English, because I get perfect scores in that across the board, along with classes that require lots of reading and writing.

No wonder you got lower grades in English. "get maths" huh? Naw I'm playin', but yeah, I don't get math. nothing else to say to that.

I do study. And I never said anything about wanting to be an A student. I just want good grades.

haha-why cuz i can solve complex equations??...nah man.its all about understanding a formula, and knowing how it applies to several different scenarios......nothing intelligent about it at all

True. Although I'm okay at English my sister can't understand why I'm shit compared to her, it's the same with Chemistry.

She was the top scoring student in English for the entire school. She has an A at Advanced Higher :| Which is almost unheard of. She also did stupidly well in Chemistry. Which I failed, completely. I try to blame being pregnant/breastfeeding but it was just that I never "got" ot. Maybe if I studied and had the motivation at the time I might have managed.

I couldn't understand why I was better than her at Biology though, because it seemed so easy to me.

The main reason I don't do well at certain academic things is lack of motivation. I'm good now though, motivated like a motherf effer.

Na, you are smart. Maybe it's just because I wasn't great at complex equations and the like. You are good at the subjects I totally sucked at. I guess if I tried I might have done better but oh well...

I never liked school.... I managed to fail gym in High School. Not proud of it, but whatever.

As far as education goes, I'm MCSE and CCNA certified as well as a host of other 'lesser' IT certifications.

I'm 29, so not sure what 'growing up' would be considered at this point, but I'm employed as a senior Systems Administrator and team lead. Before moving to Florida, I did my own independent consulting which allowed me to travel to the Bahamas and Germany internationally, as well as a host of domestic states including Minnesota, Maryland, Houston, Dallas and D.C.. I'm currently looking to start a small business that provides a much needed service in the healthcare / insurance industry with 2 other parties back in Chicago. I guess that's what I'd like to do 'when I grow up'.
